YES!!! This Sunday has been the BEST DAY EVER!!! Here's what we did...

First, we left around 9:30 to go to Crowder's Mountain, a nearby hiking mountain with beautiful views, new dogs to meet, tons of mouthwatering smells, and about a million trees to mark. Anyway, I had been there once a year or two ago, and was really excited to be going again.

Here's me on our way up (and to let you know, the foot operating that shoe is NOT kicking me, although that's what it looks like!).

This is the radio tower on top of the mountain. It's cool 'cause you can hike right up to it. Well, it's fenced off so you don't get electrocuted, at least that's what my owner said. I know that my electric collar hurts pretty bad, and I wouldn't want to get shocked by something as big as the radio tower!

Looking at the radio tower...

Once we got up to the top we got some great views, and pictures!

Me looking out over the edge. What a view!

A rock climber Anna Marie saw while climbing over the rocks. I wouldn't want to be him; that's a steep ledge!

A picture taken from over the edge of the mountain. What a drop!!!

Me again, don't I look great?

Smelling a nearby Border Collie...

So as you can see we had a great time, but I was pooped by the time we reached the top! But that's not all we did today! Anna Marie went over to the house of a lady she knows who's in a wheel chair. She just recently got a service dog from Paws with a Cause! He's a beautiful black Labrador Retriever named Larkin.

Great, isn't he? Eventually, Larkin (and his owner) plan to have their own blog. I'll let you know when it comes out!

Anyway, my owner went over to her house and watched Larkin's training session. Although he has already been placed with his new owner, he still has training sessions to perfect his known skills and work on some new ones. Also, the training sessions with his owner help them bond, because service dogs (and guide dogs alike) must have a very special bond with their owner.

Larkin was really obedient, Anna Marie said. She asked how she could get me to be more obedient and learn certain commands better (aww, come on, Anna Marie, I'm not THAT bad!). The trainer recommended a training program called Levels Training, where your dog learns commands and tricks in levels, and can only moved up once he has mastered a level. Sounds cool, huh? Oh yeah, and it's all clicker training, too! So after she's read the introduction, she plans to start training me in levels!

So I had a pretty exciting Sunday. How'd you spend Labor Day weekend? (Yeah, and WHY do they call it LABOR Day if you DON'T work? Not that I'm complaining...)

And once again I apologize for all of the annoying spaces in between pictures! Blogger is weird...
