There have been so many times where my Shibas (excluding Winnie) have made a bid for freedom. I feel so sad to hear about Shibas that get out and aren't reunited with their owners. There aren't many shelters that recognize the Shibas (they often get them confused with Pomeranians, Jindos, Akitas, etc.) So, it's important to go to the shelters and look for yourself, or check their websites for photos!

Breed rescue organizations such as Shiba Inu Rescue Association (SIRA) has a few lost/found Shibas posted on their site.

The other night, we went to a Shiba Inu Yappy Hour meetup and saw that a few dogs there had some flashy lights on! It kinda freaked out Winnie since all she could see is the flash coming towards her, and since she's so fond of the laser light toy..... Well, needless to say, she was quite intrigued by a laser light flashing her way....

With the sun setting earlier and our "dark" walks at night, it might be cool to pick up a Pet Safety Blinkers Red And White Flasher.

The Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue is doing their Shiba auction (on Ebay) to benefit the rescue work they do for Shiba Inus. Up for auction, a very adorable wallet created by our favorite custom leash/collar/harness creator Mixie (at rawdogleather.com).

This red Shiba Inu wallet was inspired by Miss Winnie! There are a ton of other great shiba items up for auction...! Your support is always welcome.

Winnie's a bit skittish when there are people coming over to the house, but even when we're out and about - she's sometimes very happy to see some people and will bark nervously at others. Can our Shibas tell who's a dog person and who's not a dog person? So far , it seems that she can sense a non-dog person and will do a little dance and short barks at them. For dog-people, she greets them with wags, playbows and short barks...

Any of you other dog owners seen anything like this?
