The best thing you can do is be prepared. Having a well stocked Pet First Aid kit can save precious time if you are ever faced with an emergency. Here is a list of some things you should have in your pet first aid kit.

Were back taking agility classes! We couldnt be happier. The teacher this time is Gwyn and she is amazing. Gwyn and her Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Gushave been invited to theAKC Agility Invitationals in Orlando, Florida this December! Only the top 5 dogs of each breed are accepted into the Invitationals.
We have learned so much in the three classes we have completed.
Here are a couple of videos made of Wrigley last night!

If you know me, you know I am a dog on the go! Id rather accompany my people than stay home ANY day but some days it is just too hot for me to tag along.
Heres a nice video on the dangers of having your best friend trapped in a car on a warm day. (HINT: if I am with my people on a warm day, and we MUST make a stop, one of them will stay with me and keep the A/C blasting).
Unfortunately, my people have had to call the police twice this year to save dogs left in a vehicle.
Lets be careful out...

There seems to be a whole lot of concern about picking up poop these days. On our weekly was around the lake in Carolina Beach (we do Farmers Market there every Saturday) we spotted this sign.
We were very amused, and after posting it to facebook, realized a whole lot of people found the wording just as strange as we did.
While having animal waste in a public place is unseemly, there are real environmental concerns related to not scooping the poop.

Today is National Pet Fire Safety Day, so here are some tips to keep us safe from house fires.
1.Monitorany open flames. If your pets are anything like me and Marshall, they are incredibly curious about everything. Keep a close eye on candles or fires to ensure they dont knock them over. Keep a very close eye on the stove as well. And before you leave the house, be very sure that all flames have been completely extinguished
2. Practice evacuation routes with your pets. Its a great idea to have...

This may be one of the best stories I have read in a LONG time!Dozer, a 3-year-old goldendoodle from Fulton, Md., escaped his invisible fence and joined the 2,000-plus runners competing in the Maryland Half Marathon, which benefits the University of Marylands Greenebaum Cancer Center. Dozer joined the fray about five miles into the race, which is held in Howard County, Md., and he crossed the finish line at the 2:14:24 mark. (read the full story here)
