Pet Product Review - Greenies® Dental Chews

If you look-up the definition of connoisseur in the dictionary, you will not see this:
con⋅nois⋅seur:
A dog of informed and discriminating taste
a.k.a Joey (see photo left)
Joey is our lovable, 10 year old Lab, who does not have a discriminating bone in his body much less his palate. He savors the flavors of anything he can get his furry little paws on. That's why I'm always happy to discover treats that are actually good for him and don't just pack-on the pounds!
Joey delights in the taste and texture of the Greenies® Dental Chews for big dogs while he unknowingly reaps the many benefits that come from chewing them: Help in controlling plaque and tartar, fresher breath, a healthier immune system, and a dose of daily fiber. The fresher breath is literally an in-my-face benefit that aids in prolonging our "cuddle time" every night.
You can find Greenies® products at most pet supply stores or use their store locator to find a retailer in your area. You can also purchase the Greenies® Value Paks for $9.68 on the PetEdge website.

Pet Product Review - JERK E. SLABS by Pup E. Luv
are you the type of dog owner that likes to show your dog "The Love" with special treats? if so, I found a great new treat that I like and my dog Charlie likes them to. They are called Jerk E. Slabs, and they're made by company called Pup E. Luv.

What I like about these treats is that they come in convenience and crum free our is or you could say slabs. so you could break off a piece of the bar to a smaller portion is possible. This is good because then you just give a small piece if you're using it for training, and you're not a cumulative all this calories typically associated with pet treats. And I especially like that the price for a 3 ounce bag of this product is only $1.49. I bought them at petsmart..

As for nutrition. Here is the chart directly from the product website:

Pet Product Review - Nature's Select Chicken & Rice w/ Glucosamine
So this weekend I was in Washington DC attending The Humane Society world conferece. It was exciting, but I do have to admit the emphasis was more on wildlife and the non-pet category. I did meet some great people. One person introduced me to a brand of Dog and Cat food called Nature's Select.
What I found out from this gentleman was that commercial pet food was created as a way of making money and also disposing of animal products not fit for human consumption. Now commerical pet food is the largest consumer of waste products discarded by the human food industry. This can include anything from hair, bones, hooves, to road kill even, I'm not joking. Anything that can be deemed protein goes directly into your pets' commercial food.
Lucky for us there are specialty and premium companies that care. Nature's Select is one of them. All of their products are USDA approved and made of natural products that are not artificially bleached or have hormone enhanced ingrediants.
The best selling product from Nature's Select in the DC area is Nature's Select Chicken & Rice w/ Glucosamine
ingredients include:
Chicken Meal, a natural protein source easy to digest, hormone & chemical free. Brown rice excellent source of fiber. Glucosamine HCL, A natural dietary supplement that helps rehabilitaion and soothes your pets joints. Pet Products Review - Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine
Well my dog Champ is very sick. He has a number of complications and we're heading to the specialist this morning. Unfortunately it seems that he may have a neurological issue. This scares me.
One of the side affects from his ailment is that he's incredibly dizzy and as a result started to vomit accutely. Poor pup, he had nothing left in his stomach and that made the matter worse. So aside from the neurological issues, I asked my vet what is the best food for your dog when they vomit. She recommended Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine.

The Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine is specially formulated for a diet that won't aggrevate a pup with gastrointestinal diseases. I guess you can say its like white rice with a bit of chicken but in a can an perfectly balanced for a dog.
You can find this Hill's product on nearly every online retailer. Southern Agriculture has it on sale at: http://www.southernagriculture.com/southag/product.asp?dept_id=226&pf_id=PAAAAAOEIHGHLJAP&ad_id=froogle&key_id=37515_HillsPrescriptionDietDogIDFoodCan
