Pet Products Review - Pestell Clear Choice Low Track Silica Crystals Cat Litter
Are you one of those cat owners that seems to always be vacuuming up litter? It can drive you crazy. There are options to prevent tracking and keep a cleaner, dust free home. One of my recommendations is Pestell Clear Choice Silica Crystal Cat Litter. Clear Choice™ Silica Crystal granule act like tiny sponges, quickly absorbing and trapping odor-causing particles. The unique shape of the crystals greatly reduces tracking and helps keep your cat's litter area clean. This cat litter does not generate any annoying dust like traditional litters.

Each 4 lb bag of litter controls moisture and odor for one full month. There are Indicator Crystals™ that will fade in color after a few exposures to moisture. When all the Indicator Crystals™ are faded, it's time to replace the litter; it's that simple!
A great site to purchase this product is Cat-alog.com go directly to: http://www.cat-alog.com/cat_litter.html for Pestell Clear Choice.

Again, for the second day of 2009 I wanted to share another wonderful poem by my friend Bridget Hanley on Cats. You can find more of Bridget's poetry on www.bridgethanley.com.
Cats
Five thousand years ago,
humans domesticated cats
by accident. It just happened,
after years of putting out food
so cats would catch rats
near the granaries.
Later, an Egyptian pharaoh coveted
all the cats in the land for his own use.
But they were so plentiful and loved,
he could not gather them all. Instead,
he deemed them demigods,
lower than he in status,
yet higher than a commoner.
He decreed them to be his property
and allowed the people to care for these little gods.
Anyone who killed a cat was sentenced to death.
If a house caught fire, cats were rescued first.
When they died, people mourned in public
and shaved their eyebrows.
Mohamed was said to have loved his cats so much,
when one was sleeping on his arm, he cut off his sleeve
so he could move without disturbing it. Emperors
of China received them as sacred gifts.
Despite such cherishment, in the Middle Ages
they were reviled as offspring of the devil
and carriers of the plague. After much bad press
from churches in Europe, they came close
to extinction in the fourteen hundreds.
But now those days are long past
and cats continue
to walk on soft paws
and let their glowing eyes look
directly into souls.
