(c) Misty DawnSYou probably don't wanna ask. It just caught my eye. You see, barbed wire is a big part of a farmer's life out here, and when I was climbing over a gate, this piece of wire caught my eye. The silver barb against the blue sky said something to me, and it called to the photographer in me. So, I, of course, photographed it. It's just what I do.
Maybe I need to buy me a motorhome, get some motorhome insurance, and travel the country looking for other things to photograph. I must admit that traveling the country with Hubs, the dogs, and the camera really sounds awesome!

(c) Misty DawnSIs it just me, or do you also get the strong urge to howl when you see this photo? I'm talking the throw your head back and just let loose with a long mournful howl urge. No? O.K. fine, I guess it's just me then. I've probably spent too much time with my dad's wolfdog. He communicates, he talks, and, yes, he howls, and it's one of the most beautiful and intimate things I've ever heard in my life. My Hubs has been known to say, "I could sit and listen to him do that all day!" I doubt he ever howls about st lucia, but I guess only other wolves really know for sure. So, I guess a few of the wolfdog's traits have rubbed off on me, because, I look at this photo, and I feel like howling!
(c) Misty DawnSLast weekend, while out on a walk, I managed to capture this Red Bellied Woodpecker with a berry or some sort of nut in its mouth. I really like this photo, because I feel like I captured a moment rather than just a portrait. Does that make any sense?
We are supposed to have beautiful weather this weekend, so I'm going to try to take advantage of it and enjoy it as much as I can! I hope everyone has a great weekend.

(c) Misty DawnSWell, I guess somebody sent these guys a notice telling them it was time. Time for cooking turkey, then decorating artificial christmas trees and hanging lights, and time for... cold weather and snow (UCK!). I was surprised last weekend when these guys flew over my head squawking the whole way, as if they were telling me goodbye for now... until we meet again next year. I had figured they had all flew south already, but apparently I was wrong. So, I gave them a wave and told them I'd miss them and that I wished I could head to warmer weather with them. hehe They weren't in a "V" formation though... just a line of geese flying in the sky. I've got news for them though - it's supposed to be almost 70 degrees on Saturday!!! WoooooHooooo That makes me a VERY happy girl!
