Phoenix, the Baltimore pit bull who was set on fire last week, has died.
The dog, who showed signs of having been used in dogfights, was doused with gasoline and set on fire Wednesday afternoon in Southwest Baltimore. A police officer, upon spotting her, put the fire out with her sweater. No arrests have been made.

At the Benton County Fairgrounds on Monday, there were still a few dogs remaining from the almost 400 dogs rescued from a Kennewick puppy mill.

Some of the dogs are fully grown, some are just two days old, but up until Tuesday morning, they were all living at Breezy Valley Dairy Farm in Mauckport. The dogs are housed in dozens of crates, carriers and pens scattered throughout the property.
