Celebrity Canines

Halloween is close at hand, and in Hollywood it seems as though our barking buddies enjoy dressing up just as much as Tinseltown's boo-tiful people. One canine who had a craving for costumes was Tori Spelling's pride and joy for 11 years, the late Mimi La Rue. Lapping up the limelight, the precocious pug pranced around in a tiny version of Dorothy's ruby slippers when she spent the day with her Momma at the 4th annual Much Love Animal Rescue Bow Wow Ween event in 2005.

Back and better than ever, pet lovers can show their devotion to dogs at the 6th Bow Wow Ween event, which will be held at the Topanga Community Club in Topanga, California on October 31st, 2009.

A friend to all who walk on four feet, actress Ashley Scott has had a number of critter companions over the years, including tree frogs, tortoises, a bearded dragon and a chameleon. In 2005 the cast member of such cult hits as Jericho, Birds of Prey and Dark Angel brought along her two canine chums Pork Chop (a precocious pug) and Ozzie (a charming chihuahua) in a show of support for the Purina Pro Plan Rally to Rescue.

Music legend Billy Joel may be back on the dating scene, but his heart will always belong to the four-legged ladies in his life-- Fionula and Sabrina. The Grammy winner-- who voiced a dog-interpreted version of the Artful Dodger in the 1988 Disney romp Oliver & Company-- was in a "New York State of Mind" recently as he enjoyed an afternoon of father/fur baby bonding with his precocious pug, Sabrina.

Getting her coif camera ready, Jessica Alba dropped by a Beverly Hills hair salon recently for an appointment, and brought one of her two precocious pugs along for company. Paparazzi magnets just like their movie star Momma, dog duo "Sid" and "Nancy" are fashion-conscious Fidos who have been known to wear trendy ID tags from Animal Stars, a luxury online boutique for our barking buddies.

While newlyweds Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, who walked down the aisle in July 2009, have told the press that they have no immediate plans to start a family, the Parks and Recreation cast member and his House Bunny bride heard the patter of tiny paws as they promenaded through Runyon Canyon recently with their fur baby, Bonzo. The puppy's paparazzi magnet parents welcomed the precocious pug into their household earlier this year, Faris-- a first-time dog owner-- confided to People magazine.
