My mom is just the best. Again this morning she let me go with her. Yep - we left the house at 7:15 - I know, I know, that's awfully early especially form mom who rarely gets up before 8 - but we left at 7:15 to host a breakfast at the
Village Vet Clinic in Knoxville. It is the most totally pawsome clinic ever. It is all female veterinarians - which mom totally loved....and it is just the neatest place. They have a spa and are building a brand new hospital. They also have pictures of doggies all around done by this really neat artist named
Marna Schindler - yep you guessed it mom has already commissoned a piece from Marna of me - AND - get this - she is going to supply the clinic with a print of me to put on their wall! Cool huh?
Well - back to the visit - there were a ton of ladies in the meeting, way too many for me to count but not too many for me to visit. I spent quality time with each and every one of them. I gave them licks and kisses. I got my belly rubbed and terrific scratches behind my ears.....Believe me when I tell you those lady vets know how to treat a little guy like me.
They had a lot of questions for mom - some of them were questions that mom couldn't answer - like if a bulldog comes in and presents healthy - but we know he's probably going to have some breathing problems - will you cover that? Well, mom wasn't sure - but she found out that the answer is a very big YES!!!!!
When we finished at the
Village Vet Clinic mom had another meeting with a group of retail merchants who are interested in a revitalization program here in Oak Ridge. Mom used to be a Main Street Executive Director and she knows a whole lot about revitalizing a town - trust me when I tell you that Oak Ridge could use some revitalizing. Mom has been consulting with these folks and she had a VERY long meeting with some of the property owners. Although it was long I got to wander around and smell a lot of new places. The guy who owns the building was worried that I would pee or poop in his building - Mom laughed and said - "probably not - but don't worry - we'll clean it up if he does." The guy just nodded and said ' oh, okay" - that's my mom - she has no worries about someone's carpeting - she thinks I rule the world and if I pee on their carpet - well, it's no big deal. Just so you know - I did NOT pee on their carpet !!!!
So far I haven't trained mom to take pictures of me at all of these clinics - but we're working on that - She has her I-phone so she could do it - but since she's kinda new in these clinics I guess she doesn't think it's appropriate to ask - but hey - mom's not shy so she will probably do it soon. So, for today, I'll just have to tell you about it.
Honestly, I have to think about whether I want to keep going with her. It's quite exhausting for me to get in and out of the car and to have to show off for all of these people. I mean, mom actually expects me to behave. She told me several times to sit down and stop wandering - I did sit for a few seconds - but hey, I'm a little guy who has an inquisitive mind. And, I'm cute so people really want to play with me - at least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
