...for a bit and I wasn't able to make that date with Sam the dreamy Rotty. But I did have a real person date with a person with a dog and I got to thinking...could I be a step daddy?
Here are the considerations:
1. I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life, and while a dog is fabulous companionship, the ultimate long-term involvement for me is human-on-human.
2. A human-with-dog relieves me of the pooch search, housebreaking, etc.
3. A second parent is always great in a dog-household.
4. Split costs, baby. Split baby-sitting time, too.
5. The would-be human mate comes with a usually necessary other responsibility (clinginess is bad, you know.)
6. Being dog-single makes me an easier prospect I think.
It's been said that a dog can tell you lots about its owner and I'm willing to bank that the opposite works too. So until my search for the ultimate doggie ends, I'm open to involving myself with dog-guys, too.
I mean, I'm not dead yet for dog's sake.
