Hot weather in Vancouver, we have record temperatures here. Bad for dogs especially the old fellows, Baron the Golden Retriever is no exception. The temperatures are pretty hard on him and being 16 years old is not making it easier.

Try to take a photo of the dog with his tongue inside his mouth at this temperatures.. hard to say at least. So Baron is not the only pet residing in the house, he has Agatka (Black cat) who have been with him most of his life and a new baby Brother Kiwi, who is a 3 months old Shitzu with very sharp teeth, oh yeah he chewed on me lol!

Baron has a lot of love to share with Kiwi and Agatka too, however she is not quite as friendly and Kiwi gets a spanked on regular basis. On the photo below posing nicely and then ready to launch..

But she can be easily forgiven with these “innocent” eyes..

oh, she means business.., but look at Kiwi how can somebody not love him?

Kiwi as a typical puppy he is very active and likes to play, anything that moves means an invitation to jump about, sniff and lick..
Baron is a mature guy, he is super friendly and affectionate.

I can see so much warmth in his eyes, and he really knows how to smile…

Agatka is a cat, so do not expect her to be too friendly to some woman with a camera in her face, the eyes say it all, but she is still a poser..lol

I really love photographing cats, I have to do it more often!

Not to self next time to photograph Shitzu or Lasa Apso bring a pair of scissors or a hair clip…I love to see the dog’s eyes and the hair just gets in the way!
Keep cool! My regards to Dr. Bendarz and the family for giving me the opportunity to work with your priceless animals.
Meet April 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier…

When you look at her eyes she is just trying to say “I am the alpha female, I am the alpha female..”

I has been a while for me since I worked with Jack Russell, but I have not forgotten the fact that it is close to impossible to sit them down.. That is why there is no action photos on my blog today..I have chosen to show what is unexpected…

April likes to get in between mommy legs when unsure and she hates the sound and sight of motor bikes..she goes nuts when they pass by..

I hope everybody is enjoying the summer as much as I am! We have a lovely weather in Vancouver, I just feel really bad about the forest fires in BC.
The SPCA is collecting blankets, towels and large crates to help evacuated animals. Please help if you can!
Those wishing to make a donation can do so by going online to spca.bc.ca or by calling 1-800-665-1868.
Meet two years old Yoda, named after the Star Wars character however quite far from the old wisdom…still crazy, playful. She is a typical child exploring and never stopping..

Since we met by the pond it was impossible to keep her out of the water… I did not think this was clan enough to swim in but her parents let her do it since she was a pup, so let it be…

The amazing thing is that the ducks did not mind her and swam right next to her..

I just love that wet look on her..

Waiting for her ring to go up in the air…

Yoda does not stop, but does she not look beautiful in motion?

No two dogs are a like, even the same breed. Remember Sunny ? He would not move more than two feet at the time… Age is one thing, but we all are different.. And thank God for that!
If you saw my previous post, you met Tic Tac who is Q-tip’s older brother. Now it is time to introduce the dog…
Here he is running in the park, he never stops! He is only two years old and full of energy. It is hard for him to settle down and relax in the park.. clearly impossible task.

He looks a little mischievous, but he is really sweet even though sometimes he pretends not to hear at all..

It was my first time in Everett Crawley Park in Vancouver, it has nice trails and places where dogs can drink. There are some benches and lots of people take their dogs there.

Q-tip looking at his”friends” walking away.. I seem to really like these kinds of shots.

After the park adventure we we home for some cooling off..

Q-tip is a Duck Toller so in his nature is the love for the water..

even if it is just coming out from the hose..

Summer is fun!
I am so happy to be back to my normal length regular photos sessions in Vancouver! I can take my time when working with the dogs and have fun! So you see in the title it is all about the cat…Well this post is, however I got commissioned to photograph the dog (coming up in the next post) and the cat… Well Tic Tac was just an addition to the dog’s shoot… not really. I decided to keep these two separated in my blog posts. I might have to start calling myself a Pet Photographer, since I am photographing more and more cats recently. I never really though that people would be interested in a cat photos, but I have to say I love it! It is so different from photographing the dog and I just love looking at these images…
I have to say I have fallen in love with this cat, he is so pleasant and calming and affectionate.

I am mesmerized by these big blue eyes…

It is fascinating the more light hits the eye the deeper blue it turns. I have to say that Tic Tac was rather easy to photograph.
The camera did not bother him much and he was quite content in my company.

This cat so graceful and beautiful, I could spend hours photographing him..
But Tic Tac does not rest all the time, we got some play action out of him too..

What Tic Tac likes the most is cuddlig up with his mom and stretching out on the sun.

I never been really familiar with Siamese cats before, I think I might have had a wrong idea as to their character. All I could think of where the two Disney character cats, well Tic Tac did not show any resemblance..

Thank you Helen for introducing me to my first Siamese model, what a delight!
