Met the sweetest pack that I know of! The dogs were photographed in their Vancouver home and garden, just a perfect location for pet photography. No disturbance, no noise.
I will be introducing them individually in a moment..

One afternoon with six dogs at the dream location! All of them friendly and loving, I got my daily doze of happiness interacting with them.
The first member of the pack is quite a senior dog Wiggly, she is 13 years old Terrier Cross. Wiggly got her name from her happy behavior, her whole body wiggles when she greets you. She loves to cuddle and play.

Then we meet Buffy Jean, named after the vampire slayer (I saw no resemblance as she is sweet and friendly!). She is 7 year old Jack Russel Cross of some sort. She loves to run, dig and hang out with her friends.
She also has the longest tongue I ever seen in person on the dog, judge for yourself..

The next sweet member of the pack is Goldy May, who is a 7 year old Lab Beagle cross. She loves to eat and cuddle together with the rest of the pack.

Then we have CoConut, who was not too crazy about me and my camera. She likes to bark and runs like the wind. Her name was supposed to be CoCo Chanel, but the nut art is much more appropriate.
She is 5 years old Dear Head Chihuahua.

CoConut has a friend is super shy 4 year old Chihuahua and Italian Greyhound mix called Blue. She feels the best in mommy’s arms. Just like Coconut she was not impressed with the lens in her face..

And last the biggest and the youngest dog, also a sweet girl Angelina! She is a Standard Smooth Collie, just one year old. She is super gentle and so loving, just a super dog!

So now you know all of them! What a pleasure that was spending the afternoon in a beautiful garden with 6 great girls! Too bad they had enough of me just after a few hours, but it was a hot day (yes the end of September!) and the dogs had not much interest in running around. They have such a great life in the house designed for their comfort and pleasure. It is so heart warming that my clients love their dogs so much!
Thank you Pixie for introducing me to your family and beautiful home I am truly honored.
You have met Max in the winter, it was yucky outside and we did a quick inside shoot. Now it was the time for the update with dog photography session on Vancouver beach – summer time (not in the calendar anymore, but sure still feels like it)

We just wanted to get one good photo of Max with the city in the background…

I have to say that Max is a wonderful dog and listens so well.

Of course it gets better when the cookies are involved and his dad was the one that Max listened to…not me.. Dogs think I am just good for playing around and giving treats..
Max has kept his cute tongue out for most of the time..

This was my last session with my so far faithful camera that decided to die in the first hour..so no more..

However a trip to Beau Photo solved my problem and I became the proud owner of Canon 5D Mark II, how exciting and stressful at the same time.

Before my camera gave up on me completely I still manage to get some “dancing Max” shots…

It was great so see you again Max, you are a great dog and I hope we will meet again!
Thanks to Sav for putting up with my malfunctioning equipment and being a great sport!
I am a lucky girl, just a couple of weeks ago I got to photograph two fantastic French Bulldog Boston Terrier crosses on the beach in Vancouver and now I had an honor to do the same in Richmond for a couple of pure Boston Terriers! Meet Demi and Gus! Demi is black one..and Gus is the…. chubby one lol, his mom picked out the chubbiest one from the litter. I understand I used to have super fat cat..kind of like Garfield, but she only had three legs … GUS runs like the wind…it is all muscles!

Demi is about 8 years old, Gus is 2 and a half. They both love to run and swim…When they swim after the stick they retrieve it together…

I was shooting through the grass and it got in the way…but I think it makes it look more interesting

Gus looks like an angle here, but he is so smart , he lets Demi swim out first and get to the stick, he joins her on her way back and tries to take it away..but she is the boss, surprised?

They will run around with the stick until it falls apart..

After vigorous exercises we tried to get the dogs to sit for nice side by side..

Then some solo of Demi..apparently she has that sad look on her face most of the time, so it was not me… I do not torture dogs! I love them!

And here is Gus…

Well enough with this color their mom wanted some black and white stuff …

I think she looks just like the model….

Thank you Emilie, I had a fun afternoon and I promise your album will be up soon!
I am in love with Bostons and Frenchies…I think Off Leash will get a new mascot soon..(update: I am getting a Frenchton girl!!!, she is ready to come home to me mid November!)
Derby is a beautiful 1.5 year old Blue Heeler, smart and graceful in his moves. Derby does not like the car rides, even his name is taken from the place where he first got car sick Enderby, BC near Salmon arm. His mom had driven all the way from Langley to Richmond’s Iona Beach to meet me for his photo session. Derby needed some time to relax so we took him to the tiny beach first. Isn’t he gorgeous?

Then it was the time to do some running…

He looks so earthy, so..wild

Young dogs are always so unpredictable, Derby did at some point took off to say hello to his friends. Heelers are incredibly smart and even at such a young age you can see the intelligence in his eyes.

There is also some humor as always…

I could not stop myself from posting this one, Derby was already tired and his mom was trying to get him to do something..this is so sweet

Since Derby needs some rest; lets meet his rambunctious brother 10 week old Sully (Sullivan). He was waiting patiently in his crate while we were photographing Derby. It is pretty awesome to photograph two entirely different dogs in one session, the big and the small, the grown up and the pup. Derby is not too sure how to feel about the puppy yet, but he will come around..

I did not take Sully any time to get super friendly with me and the camera..

Puppies just make the funniest faces, and especially pugs they are great…

It is pretty funny that this little guys has such an attitude right there he is attacking my shoe laces…

I hope these images make you laugh it sure works for me! Thank you Kathleen for an opportunity to work with two such a different creatures! Fun, fun!
This post is here in order to express my gratitude, not show off my photos. I have to say that 2 min portraits are not what I like the best but that is what I did for SPCA Paws for Cause. We were doing picture by donation and am happy to report that I have managed to finish and email each and every photo to the people who who participated. But it was supposed to be about the gratitude.. well people who have animals are special, but the ones who spend their time volunteering for SPCA and adopting the animals in needs are even more special.
Back in the winter I have met Sandra, she hired me to do the photos of JaC and now when I needed help for the event she volunteered to help.

Here she is smiling away! Sandra is working in marketing she knows how to talk to people. She loves dogs and she is a super nice person. She made my job so much easier staying on the ball all the time and on many occasions she was a step or two ahead of me! I just wanted to tell the world how grateful I am for having such a fantastic help.
Part two of my thanks is to the organizers and volunteers of Surrey SPCA, they work so hard in order to make the world a better place for the animals! And last but now least big thank you for all who participated, who gave money to this great cause!
Now just a few photos..
This is Henry who stopped by to say hello and Bella, who wanted to have her photo taken…

Dakota on the right and Tigger on the left

I am not big on having a set, but people of SPCA thought I needed some props so I got a wooden bail full of sunflowers (my favorite!)…I know it is cheesy, but what isn’t when it comes to posed photographs…
His name is Red and he is magnificent Pharaoh Hound…

Two Chihuahuas, who’s mom absolutely refused the sunflowers in the photo, I agree Twiggy and Roo look fine without them…

And then There are Dave..looking cool on the left and Ezra checking out Off Leash table for treats…

There were many more dogs…and people photographed please check your email for photos…
If you know the guys below tell them to contact me, the email and phone number they gave us are out of commission ..
t
BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT SUPPORTED SPCA THIS WEEKEND!
