I had the pleasure of trying Truvia™ via my membership at The Product Review Place. I’ve been curious about Truvia™.
Below is some information that was shared with me about Truvia™:
• Truvia™ (pronounced Tru-VEE-a) natural sweetener is a great-tasting, natural, zero-calorie sweetener made with rebiana, the best-tasting part of the stevia leaf.
• Truvia™ natural sweetener provides consumers with a new, natural sweetener choice to reduce the number of calories in their diets.
• Truvia™ natural sweetener sprinkles just like sugar, and is great in coffee and tea, or on your morning grapefruit or cereal.
• You can also cook and bake with it – recipes and a sweetness conversion chart are available at www.truvia.com.
• Truvia™ natural sweetener is available all over the country in grocery and food stores.
• You can find it in supermarkets like Kroger, Publix, SuperValu, Food Lion, Stop & Shop, Giant and Martin’s.
• You can also buy it at Whole Foods, Wal-Mart, and Target.
• It is available in boxes of 40-count ($3.99), 80-count ($6.49) and 140-count ($10.99) packets at the respective suggested retail price.
• Truvia™ natural sweetener sprinkles like sugar because it has a crystal form, and it has a great clean, sweet taste.
• One packet of Truvia™ natural sweetener provides the same sweetness as two teaspoons of sugar.
• Truvia™ rebiana is safe. Government agencies in the United States and around the world, including FDA and the World Health Organization, have recognized its safety.
• Truvia™ natural sweetener is safe for people with diabetes, because it has no effect on the glycemic index (it does not raise or lower your blood sugar).
INGREDIENTS
Truvia™ natural sweetener is made from rebiana, erythritol, and natural flavors:
• Rebiana comes from the leaves of the stevia plant, which was discovered more than 200 years ago in South America and has been used as a sweetener in various parts of the world for more than three decades. Truvia™ rebiana is different from most stevia sold today because it consists of only the best-tasting components of the stevia leaf.
• Erythritol is a sugar alcohol found naturally in various fruits such as grapes and melons. Erythritol is an all-natural, non-caloric sweetener, used as an ingredient that provides bulk for Truvia™ natural sweetener.
• Natural flavors are used to bring out the best of Truvia™ natural sweetener, like pepper or salt or any other spice that would be used to heighten the taste of food.
LOOK FOR THE LEAF
Truvia™ rebiana is also used as an ingredient in foods and beverages. Look for this leaf symbol to indicate that the product has been naturally sweetened with Truvia™ rebiana.
