Comedians To Raise Funds for Animal Protection Society of Friday Harbor

Helping to set the stage for a brighter future for homeless companion animals, three canine- and cat-loving comedians will take the stage at The San Juan Community Theatre for Wags to Riches 2013- Comedy to the Rescue.
The annual jest fest will include performances by Elayne Boosler (founder of the non-profit Tails of Joy), Emo Philips and Wendy Liebman; a live auction; raffles, appetizers and beverages.

Miami Marlins To Host Bark at the Park on August 4th

For the second time this season the Miami Marlins will show their dogged devotion to our pals with paws by hosting Bark at the Park on August 4th.
While the Marlins went to bat for The Humane Society of Broward County in June, this time the Major League team will step up to the plate to raise funds for The Humane Society of Greater Miami as they take on the Cleveland Indians, with fans and their Fidos cheering from seats located in the Vista Reserved area.

This cute little guy is Hero, a Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer mix. He is currently in the care of **Alaska Animal Rescue Friends (AARF) in Anchorage, AK. Hero is an energetic boy who loves to explore. The shelter folks say that he will need a home with a fenced yard and pet parents who have experience with bully breeds.
When adopted, Hero will be neutered and up to date with his puppy shots. He will make someone a loyal, fun-loving companion.
