Dear Tink,
How do you get around without any front paws?
I have been asked that a lot. I was born this way so I think having no paws is normal. Each of us think what we are is normal. Until I found my forever home I was carried from place to place and then I would hop on my back two legs and sometimes bounce on my chest. When I bounced on my chest I got very red and on the carpet I got rug burn.
Then I found my home and my family wanted me to have true mobility. That involved 11 attempts to make a device that gave me wheels for my front paws. A very nice white coat person who makes limbs for humans started making something called prototypes for me. Each time, I had a little more mobility. It was sooooo cool. Now I have a permanent set of pink wheels. When Mom pops my five and a half body into the little brace, I am off and running. I can now chase my boyfriend Henry everywhere. I think sometimes I run as fast as he can. When we are done playing and running after each other we curl up and cuddle. I live with five other dogs, one whom is a dachshund like me and she has only three legs. She is twice my size and gets along fine, just like Henry, with only three paws. My boyfriend and I have five paws together and our families say we are a handful. We just have fun everyday like animals with four paws. For us, life is good!
I have to go do some wheelies now, paws up! Tink
Remember: We are going to give one of our books, your choice, Henry’s or mine to the first ten humans who write with questions. The next twenty will get a bookmark, either mine, Henry’s , or Henry’s love poem to Tink.
On your mark, get set go! Let us hear from you and visit us on our website to see all the things we are involved in. We give ALL profits to animals or kids, we are blessed to have all we need so we give back to others. Have a question for any of the trio? Write to break@breakthroughpress.com
