Dear Pawsitive Trio-

How on earth did a two- legged dog and a three-legged cat who did not grow up together ever meet and how long did it take for them to get used to each other?

Reply:

They met as a result of a lecture I was giving at UCSD on the Power of Story telling in Henry’s World. Someone in the audience came up afterwards and said she had a two legged dog and perhaps they should meet. Being a human, I was not sure they would get along, well, I was soon proven wrong. It was love at first sight. Tink got one glance at Henry and she was smitten. Henry had never seen anyone as small or beautiful as Tink so he seemed most interested. They sent some love letters and then started to have play dates. Tink didn’t have her wheels yet and Henry was concerned that she was getting rug burns on her little chest while chasing him. Henry new Susan Lanci of Lanci Designs , (www.susanlancidesigns.com)who makes beautiful suede outfits for small dogs. He wrote to her and asked if she might please make something very soft to protect the tender chest of his girlfriend. He was shocked when she said she would be glad to but needed her chest measurements. Henry wrote back that he had only had three play dates and thought perhaps it was a bit too soon to be inquiring about chest measurements. She assured him she needed them and it was not too soon. In about two weeks he presented Tink with the most beautiful soft pink protective garment in the whole world. No longer did she get rug burns. It kept her safe until she finally started getting wheels. Then, she kept her beau on the run. She chased that boy from one end of the house to the other. Wherever she was, he was. An unlikely romance, but nontheless, so very sweet. As you can see, they do “spoon “ together quite well. Love knows no boundaries.

Remember: We are going to give one of our books, your choice, Henry’s or mine to the first ten humans who write with questions. The next twenty will get a bookmark, either mine, Henry’s , or Henry’s love poem to Tink.
