Dear Pawsitive Trio –
What were your biggest challenges in adjusting to losing your front leg AND being an indoor kitty?
Reply:
When I lived out in the woods I could run and chase leaves all day, climb wherever I wanted, sleep wherever I wanted, hunt whenever I wanted. Living in doors was probably a harder adjustment than losing my paw. You see, I live in a home with many beautiful things. My Dr
Mom is a wonderful sculpture. I happen to like to hear things go clunk and see them slide onto the floor. I seemed to have landed in the Land of No. Everything of any interest appears to have the word NO to it. One day I thought I was , for sure going to be okay. There was a
vase of something called Pussywillows. I mean, how can a guy go wrong with a name like that, clearly a vase of things for ME only.. Well, as I started to climb them I got told I was a bad boy and they were whisked away. Lots of things get whisked away. It is puzzling to me why humans seem content to just look at things. Things should be smelled, touched, pushed around, climbed upon, then and only then do you get a sense of what that object is like.
There is a pretty vase in our house and flowers seem to get floated in the vase. So, I take my paw and rearrange the flowers more to my liking, out of the water and on the counter. They want me to go to the bathroom in a box. I have to look out the door to see things but you can’t smell them then. I have learned to adjust and they have learned that there will be things that go clunk in the night. We love each other, so that is just the way it is. My girlfriend Tink seems content
to just roll around and not get into as much mischief as I do. What can I tell you, I am a boy.
Remember: We are going to give one of our books, your choice, Henry’s or mine to the first ten humans who write with questions. The next twenty will get a bookmark, either mine, Henry’s , or Henry’s love poem to Tink.
On your mark, get set go! Let us hear from you and visit us on our website to see all the things we are involved in. We give ALL profits to animals or kids, we are blessed to have all we need so we give back to others. Have a question for any of the trio? Write to break@breakthroughpress.com
