For Love of a Dog Talking Dog
Sunday September 28th, 2014 at 11:00 PMI found Rosie on Petfinder. At the time her name was "Puppy" and there were no photos, merely the description: black Golden Retriever 7 week old puppy. That's it. (And if you click that "Puppy" you'll be taken to puppy photos of Rosie.) As in the case of Rita and Jackie, had Rosie been labeled as another breed of dog, it is very likely she would not have become a member of our family. So, I have to be grateful to the volunteers at the animal shelter for totally blowing the dog breed. They... Saturday September 27th, 2014 at 11:00 PMThis adorable boy is Koda. He's a 15 months old Labrador Retriever / German shepherd mix. In spite of living almost his whole life in the shelter, Koda full of life and house broken. He's still got lots of puppy energy and would love to share adventures with a special person. Here's his adoption letter: Hello there! I'm Koda and I am one precious dog, searching for my forever home. Why does it have to be so hard to find you? Why didn't I get a home when I was just a cute puppy with so much... Friday September 26th, 2014 at 11:00 PMI know, Dog Song Saturday really is supposed to be about dog songs. However, once in awhile we find a music video we just can't resist sharing with you. If you love dogs, you're going to love this wonderful video from Dog Work. Fabulous video clips of all kinds and breeds of dogs and puppies are accompanied by the song More Than a Feeling by Boston. I just can't even decided what my favorites are - the swimming underwater dogs, the black Lab leaping into a pond, or... the puppies. Lots of... Thursday September 25th, 2014 at 11:00 PMSince my September jewelry giveaway is one of my copper dog bone bracelets, I thought it would be a good time to feature some more of my copper dog bone jewelry. Each of these bracelets is one of a kind and includes a beautiful two dimensional flamed copper dog bone focal. Gorgeous warm colors like a vivid sunset comes from the heat of the flame: shades of pink and orange. Each one is a little bit different. The bracelet shown at top emphasizes the beautiful pinks, from soft rose to hot... Wednesday September 24th, 2014 at 11:00 PMRudy is home now, but still anxious from his surgery. Barks Even if you cop of feel of your dog every day, life can still throw you a curve ball. If you follow me or For Love of a Dog on Facebook, or read my blog earlier this week, you know that Rudy had some surgery Monday morning. When my dog Benji was diagnosed with cancer so many years ago, I became obsessed with "feeling up" and examining my dogs daily for lumps and bumps. After all, early detection can make the difference between life... Tuesday September 23rd, 2014 at 11:00 PMTake a good look at this face. The shelter vehemently insisted Rosie's mama was a Golden Retriever. Umm... Nope! We got Rosie's DNA results. I'll be sharing them soon. In the meantime, the dirt on her nose? It's a clue! Saturday September 20th, 2014 at 11:00 PMThis pretty girl is Sophie. She's an 8 year old senior tricolor Harrier dog. Sophie walks very nicely on a leash. She'd would love a family that took her for walks so she could sniff, explore and enjoy the outdoors. Sophie is a friendly, gentle girl who just needs somebody to love. According to the American Kennel Club, the Harrier is a scent hound developed in England to hunt hare in packs. Though Harriers are a smaller version of the English Foxhound, they are still a sturdy, large-boned...
