I don't understand all the ruckus about Master taking so long to make a decision about the Afghanistan war. Why all the fuss? And why the rush? As I see it, it's a good thing. I think he's shown that he's thoughtful, careful and deliberate about the matter. And it's an important one. What do people want? For him to make a snap decision? Believe me, that's not Master. I see him every day and I can tell you that he's very cautious in just about everything he does. Like the way he picks out his clothes in the morning. He doesn't just grab something from his closet. He takes a few suits out and lays them on his bed with clean shirts tucked under the lapels. Then he drapes them with a collection of ties to see which looks best. He'll stand back and consider them carefully. If Michelle is around, she'll offer an opinion. She likes to keep it simple. Dark suit. White shirt. Light blue tie. Today, I managed to squeeze between them and dragged one of the ties to the floor. I wagged my tail to show I wanted to play tug of war. But Master just put his hands on his hips and smiled at me. Anyway, I don't think it's wrong for him to take a long time to make a decision on the war thing. I take my time, too. Last night, I saw a mouse working its way down the main hallway in the residence. Did I run over and grab it? Nope. I took my time, creeping up slowly so as not to alarm the rodent. I was alert and calculated, figuring out which way he was going to move and how I could best intercept him. I won't tell you the rest, because it was pretty bloody. But let's just say that the staff has been working hard to clean the stain.
