I'm pleased to announce my latest sponsored pet, Chiquita. I sponsor a new shelter pet every month with some of the profits from selling my Needle Felted art. I decided this month to sponsor a dog through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). This month's sponsored pet is Chiquita, a 2 year old, 8 lbs, female Chihuahua.

Here's a bit more info about Chiquita:

Chiquita is in great physical condition. She walks quite nicely on lead and also loves to run around the backyard, so she’ll need a home with a secure fence and a family who will walk her daily. Her housetraining is impeccable, she’s crate-trained, and obeys basic commands. She loves attention, but has no problem staying alone for a few hours so that she can catch up on her sleep.

When she first came to CCRT, Chiquita was quite fearful of humans and trusted no one. Now, she’s very affectionate with her foster mom and dad, and has slowly learned to trust them. They say that she gives the best little “whisker kisses,” and that all she asks for is a warm lap to sit on so that she can be petted. Her life revolves around being stroked, and she’s still learning that human hands will not hurt her.

Chiquita needs a forever home where there are
no other animals or children. It is essential that Chiquita’s adopters be experienced pack leaders who are willing to initially work with a trainer, and are up to the challenge of ongoing behaviour therapy for this wonderful little dog.

If you have a place in your heart and your home for Chiquita, she is available for adoption through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). If you are looking for a new pet, please check your local shelter and rescue listings - there are so many wonderful animals desperately seeking their forever home.
