I'm please to announce this month's sponsored pet, Tucker. I sponsor a new shelter pet every month with some of the profits from selling my Needle Felted art. I decided this month to sponsor a dog through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). This month's sponsored pet is Tucker, an 18 month old male Chihuahua.

Here's a bit more info about Tucker:

Tucker is a young, smooth coat male Chihuahua currently being fostered in Calgary. He was found abandoned on a doorstep, in his crate and fortunately made his way to CCRT. Tucker is up date to shots, neutered, microchipped and in great health.

Tucker is truly enjoying his time in foster care and was quick to show his wonderful, sweet side. He is extremely affectionate, has tons of energy and likes to play, play and play some more. Tucker is a tad cautious around strangers at first, but once he gets to know you, will shower you with kisses and love. He is doing great with the other pets in his foster home as well.

He came to CCRT knowing absolutely nothing about house training, but is now completely housebroken. Tucker loves to be outdoors and has now learned how to walk nicely on leash. He is a quick learner and eager to please. Tucker is a very quiet dog, who rarely barks. He would rather run and play than make noise. He is extremely content sleeping in his crate at night.

Tucker did develop a skin issue that has since been cleared up. He did lose some fur around his neck, but that is growing back and he’s looking more and more like his handsome self every day.

Tucker's ideal forever home would include someone who is active and loves taking a dog on walks or perhaps even doing some agility training. This guy just lives for fun, fun, fun! Tucker is a small dog in size, but a large dog in heart and attitude!

If you have a place in your heart and your home for Tucker, he will be available for adoption through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). And as always, if you are looking for a new pet, please check your local shelter and rescue listings - there are so many wonderful animals desperately seeking their forever home.

I'm please to announce this month's sponsored pet, Salma. I sponsor a new shelter pet every month with some of the profits from selling my Needle Felted art. I decided this month to sponsor a dog through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). This month's sponsored pet is Salma, a 8 year old female Chihuahua.

Here's a bit more info about Salma:

Salma is an extremely sweet, mild and gentle 8 year old girl. She was surrendered to CCRT by her owners who could no longer care for her.

Salma is a quiet dog who doesn't bark very much and is paper trained and is learning to do her business outdoors as well. She is very good on her leash and is loving her walks. Salma is being fostered in a home with other dogs and is also very tolerant of younger children, sitting by their side to be petted and loved.

Salma does suffer from allergies and her previous owners were giving her regular cortisone shots. They didn't seem to be doing the trick and her allergies were so severe that CCRT had her thoroughly examined and tested by our vet. We have learned that she suffers from extreme allergies to some foods and has environmental triggers as well. At this time, we are trying out a new dog food in the hopes of making her better. If there is no improvement, Salma will have biopsy so we can learn more and she may need allergy shots for the rest of her life.

It's such a shame that this is happening to a truly wonderful, darling girl. Salma will scratch incessantly and then snuggle up for hugs and kisses - it's rather heartbreaking and lovely all the same.

Salma will need a home where her health is a top priority and where her family will continue on with the care, monitoring and treatment she has been receiving. If you have the time and resources to be Salma's family, you won't be disappointed by this precious dog.

If you have a place in your heart and your home for Salma, she will be available for adoption through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). And as always, if you are looking for a new pet, please check your local shelter and rescue listings - there are so many wonderful animals desperately seeking their forever home.

I'm please to announce this month's sponsored pet, Ziggy (love that name!). I sponsor a new shelter pet every month with some of the profits from selling my Needle Felted art. I decided this month to sponsor a dog through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). This month's sponsored pet is Ziggy, a 10 year old male Chihuahua.

Here's a bit more info about Ziggy:

"Get jiggy with Ziggy! This handsome, 10 year old sweetie is up to date on shots, microchipped and will be neutered and have a dental cleaning very soon. He's a bit thin at 7 pounds, but CCRT foster families know how to treat a dog right and Ziggy will fill out in no time.

Ziggy came to CCRT from an Ontario shelter, where he had originally been found as a stray. He's getting to know his foster family and is doing well so far. Ziggy does seem to have a touch of arthritis, but that's nothing unheard of in a dog his age.

Ziggy will remain in foster care until his medical needs have been attended to. However, Ziggy hopes to find a forever home soon."

If you have a place in your heart and your home for Ziggy, he will be available for adoption through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). And as always, if you are looking for a new pet, please check your local shelter and rescue listings - there are so many wonderful animals desperately seeking their forever home.

I'm please to announce this month's sponsored pet, Stella. I sponsor a new shelter pet every month with some of the profits from selling my Needle Felted art. I decided this month to sponsor a dog through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). This month's sponsored pet is Stella, a 12 year old female Chihuahua.

Here's a bit more info about Stella:

This lovely champagne coloured, long coat bundle of beauty is Stella. She weighs approximately 4 pounds, is spayed and up to date on her shots. Stella is being treated for extreme 'dry eyes' and will require medication for this for the rest of her life. She’s had a thorough dental cleaning and had 6 teeth removed, but she’s doing great now.

Stella’s foster family tells us she’s a very sweet girl, very independent and does enjoy being around people. She adores spending time outside to do her business and will inspect, sniff and smell everything she can. Stella loves to go for rides and when she’s happy and smiling, her tongue hangs out the side of her mouth. Very cute!

Stella will do fine in any home where she gets lots of attention and one that may include older children and dogs as well.

If you have a place in your heart and your home for Stella, she will be available for adoption through the Canadian Chihuahua Rescue & Transport (CCRT). If you are looking for a new pet, please check your local shelter and rescue listings - there are so many wonderful animals desperately seeking their forever home.
