Happy Wordless Wednesday everyone! We got another 6"ofsnow yesterday (followed by freezing rain - ugh) and are awaiting anotherstorm on Friday.Sophie likes to romp in it as much as the next dog, but I think she's had enough for awhile...Goodbye Sweet Diego

Diego July 26, 2010 ~January 16, 2011 It is with great sadness that I write this post and say goodbye to a cat who really stole this crazy dog lady's heart.Iwas devastated to learn that Diego (one of the beautiful jaguar cubs thatwe were so fortunateto be able to spend time with in October, along with his sisterDora and friend Mohan)crossed over the Rainbow Bridge very early yesterday morning. I am heartbroken andjustcan not imagine how his family at Tiger World is dealing with the sudden...Let the Weekend Begin!

Hey, look... it's Fiber Arts Friday! Hey, look... she still knits! Amber's Tasseled TopperNot that I don't have 101 UFO's going already, but yes, these are new projects. You see, my niece and nephew asked my sister to knit them hats, but insteadshe's working on scarves as sheteaches herself to knit. So Auntie had to step in and cast onhats, right? Happy Dogs on Thursday! Today it's all about dogs playing in the S-N-O-W... although these photos are actually from the post-Christmas blizzard, not to be confused with yesterday's blizzard. I'm just a little behind with downloading photos... you'll get more from yesterday's near 2 feet of snow soon, promise! Sophie, the snow princess... Lola, the ultimate snow zipper... Happy 1/11/11! As we sit hereawaiting another potential blizzard to hit later today through tomorrow, I decided it would be a good time to finally sharesome photosfrom the post-Christmas Blizzard (which, by the way, was the best kind because we didn't have anywhere to go for two days and were happy to be housebound)... The snow had begun to fall on Sunday, Dec 26 and continued straight through Monday... Pretty ice formed inside the front door... The sunrise and my drive to work on the morning...A Moment of Silence

Tomorrow (Monday, Jan 10) at 11:00 a.m. eastern standard time, I call on Americans to observe a moment of silence to honor the innocent victims of the senseless tragedy in Tucson, Arizona, including those still fighting for their lives. Another wonderful doggy story to share with you today... that's two in one weekend! I saw this one on our local news this morning. Cedric, a 200 pound mastiff had fallen into a 20' sinkhole in his family's backyard in CA. Here's a link to the original storyand one toa follow up that includes the video below.
