Book Signing Saturday at the Kennewick Barnes & Noble – Author and Pet Photographer Michael Kloth

I think there might be a trend forming here. Book signing at Barnes & Noble, crazy running planned. The first time I had a book signing at the Columbia Center Mall Barnes & Noble, I ran a marathon. Tomorrows book signing? Same day as the 15K Badger Mountain Challenge with over 2000 feet of elevation gain (and descent). One could reasonably conclude that I might be kind of a glutton for punishment.

I was told that I shouldnt start talking up my next project until later in April or May but it turns out that the secret of my latest project is out. Yesterday while I was looking to see if FindelKatzen has been released (yes it has by the way), I learned that my current project is already available for pre-orders even though Im still doing some last minute work on the book. So, since Amazon.com let the cat out of the bag early, I dont see why I have to continue to wait. So here it is:...
It’s beyond time for Yogi to find a home – Pet photography by Michael Kloth

on Wednesday March 16th, 2011 at 04:13 PM
Ive decided that Im going to have to post about Yogi at least once a month until he finally is adopted. You might recall that I posted an update about Yogi back in February. He was ready for a home then. Every time I work with Yogi, he seems a bit more calm. A bit more mellow. A bit more adoptable. But when hes in the small dog room, he gets a little over excited sometimes and I think people just dont realize what a sweet boy he can be.
I was talking to animal care supervisor Michelle Lang...

Last week I promised that Id post some photos of the super cute puppies available for adoption at the Benton-Franklin Humane Society. Then book deadline stuff got in the way so here it is, a new week and still no puppy pictures. Well, thats about to change. This boy and girl were my only new subjects last week. They didnt have official names but at least one of the humane society staff members were unofficially calling them Angel and Devil. Can you guess which is which?
As far as I could tell,...

The opening reception for my Shelter Cats Larger than Life exhibition was last night and I had a great time talking to everyone about the animals on display. The evening provided a very nice opportunity to talk a bit about the importance of the work that I do with the adoptable animals. It was also allowed me the chance to catch up with some people that I rarely see or typically only have the time to say hello to in passing. For those of you that couldnt make it but would still like to see...
Shelter Cats – Larger than Life reception at Washington State University’s Art Exhibition Center

It was a short session today at the humane society with just two new cute little puppies to photograph (photos to follow tomorrow) which is a good thing because it gave me a bit of time to work on the book this afternoon. I cant believe how much work there still is to do before Tuesdays deadline!!! But enough about that.
I wanted to remind all of the area animal lovers that my exhibitions opening reception is tonight from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. I hear there will be light snacks available. (Mmm,...

Proud of my Spring after her first obedience class
My dogs Spring and Lyle both had a bit of obedience training when we still lived in Lexington, Kentucky and it was clear from the start that Spring LOVES class. After we moved to Richland, Washington, we enrolled Spring in the Canine Good Citizen class at our local Petco where we met professional dog training Krystal Ellingson. Spring had a ball and was a better dog for the experience so we signed her up for a trick class. Then life got too...

Still talking. I wasn't keeping very good track of the time. I hope I didn't go over.
Last night I had the good fortune to speak to a fairly crowed auditorium at the Tri-City Digital Photography Club.
