Did you know that we have just entered the peak season for fleas?
I always thought that was summer, but in fact. the number of autumnfleas can be up to 70% greater than summer's.
Long ago, I didn't give fleas a second thought. That was back in the days of flea collars or flea powder (ugh! and double ugh!), and I assumed that the worst that might happen if the cat had fleas is that he would scratch himself senseless. I was SO happy when topical flea treatments were developed.
It was around...

Nothing better than seeing a kitteh first thing in the morning to start your day right. We saw these fabulous coffee mugs on Etsy and immediately thought, "MUST. HAVE."
But they get even better. You can get them customized with whatever you want on the back. We're leaning toward "Mr Tasty Face" and "The Food Lady."
You can order yours on Etsy in the Tickled Blue Boutique.

Max, I dont know who else to turn to and you seem to be able to handle the big stuff, so Im coming to you and I hope thats all right. Im a person and not a cat.
My mom is dying. She has at best 5-6 weeks, and it came out of nowhere. I am only 23 and she has been my best friend for all of my life, so Im naturally a wreck. Every time I see her, I break down. This past weekend my brother stopped me from going into her house and told me to not come back until I could get my shit together.

The end of life is never easy for the decedent or the family. But it can be better with cats.
Im not being flip. Cats occupy a space within our souls that is different but just as vital as that of family members. Well, they ARE family members, after all. If I were widowed, and subsequently had to be moved to an assisted living facility, there is practically no chance that my cats could accompany me. I would die of loneliness or anxiety, for lack of purr therapy.

Microchips rock. And one just saved the life of a plucky tortie named Betty.
Betty was brought in by a good Samaritan to First Coast No More Homeless Pets in Jacksonville, FL with serious injuries, including a broken pelvis and respiratory difficulties.
Probably had been hit by a car, had fleas, just really needed some great care, said Nicole Brose, First Coasts development director.
Doctors worked quickly to resolve Bettys injuries. She had surgery to mend her broken pelvis and doctors treated...

In the last six months, hubs and I have been drowning immersed in home reno projects. Most recently, we moved living and family room furniture out of storage into our newly carpeted and painted downstairs.
The leather furniture is immune from cat scratching, something at which Ive always rather marveled. But the dark blue upholstered furniture seems to have Scratch the living crap out of me signs on it, visible only in the feline vision spectrum. And of course, its also a magnetic vortex for...

Sorry Im late getting this online today; we had some computer issues and everything I had already done is stuck on a broken laptop, which meant re-writing and I had to ponder hard and re-organize my thinks before doing that.
Max, so we asked you before about what we should do when that woman that lives in our house has her oper-way-shun, and you gave good advice. But we just thought of something TERRIFYING. If she has to lay in bed all day, WHO IS GOING TO FEED US? what is the protocol for...
