The end of life is never easy for the decedent or the family. But it can be better with cats.

Im not being flip. Cats occupy a space within our souls that is different but just as vital as that of family members. Well, they ARE family members, after all. If I were widowed, and subsequently had to be moved to an assisted living facility, there is practically no chance that my cats could accompany me. I would die of loneliness or anxiety, for lack of purr therapy.

    Fortunately, no-pets...

Microchips rock. And one just saved the life of a plucky tortie named Betty.

Betty was brought in by a good Samaritan to First Coast No More Homeless Pets in Jacksonville, FL with serious injuries, including a broken pelvis and respiratory difficulties.

Probably had been hit by a car, had fleas, just really needed some great care, said Nicole Brose, First Coasts development director.

Doctors worked quickly to resolve Bettys injuries. She had surgery to mend her broken pelvis and doctors treated...

In the last six months, hubs and I have been drowning immersed in home reno projects. Most recently, we moved living and family room furniture out of storage into our newly carpeted and painted downstairs.

The leather furniture is immune from cat scratching, something at which Ive always rather marveled. But the dark blue upholstered furniture seems to have Scratch the living crap out of me signs on it, visible only in the feline vision spectrum. And of course, its also a magnetic vortex for...

Sorry Im late getting this online today; we had some computer issues and everything I had already done is stuck on a broken laptop, which meant re-writing and I had to ponder hard and re-organize my thinks before doing that.

Max, so we asked you before about what we should do when that woman that lives in our house has her oper-way-shun, and you gave good advice. But we just thought of something TERRIFYING. If she has to lay in bed all day, WHO IS GOING TO FEED US? what is the protocol for...

If youre a cat-hating fashionista, these are hard times for you. First Charlotte Olympia sold a pair of cat-embroidered flats to basically everyone in the fashion industry, then Taylor Swift started toting around her cat, Olivia Benson, on her arm. Now, Karl Lagerfeld has emblazoned a new line of bags, clothes and accessories with a cartoon version of his beloved cat, Choupette, according to Womens Wear Daily.

It was only a matter of time. Lagerfelds eponymous contemporary line has long taken...

Cat Watch 2014 is the second Horizon cat experiment in the U.K.It documents the behavior of cats when they think were not watching. Its a followup to last years experiment, The Secret Life of Cats, that attached GPS trackers and cat cams to 50 cats in a Surrey village, then followed their activity.

This year, the investigation has been expanded. In Cat Watch 2014 they followed 100 cats in different locations in Sussex over three nights. It included city, coastal village and rural farm areas.
