My Tail Hurts From Wagging So Much
Friday October 24th, 2014 at 04:11 PMThis year Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month has taken on new meaning in our family, because, well, I adopted a shelter dog. As you know, a week ago we brought Maddux home for a trial with Toby. All went well, and by Sunday morning Toby had a newly adopted baby brother. While I usually stay out of the pet store dog vs. adoption debate, I wanted to post about this, because I wanted to bring attention to the millions of pets that do not have homes, and just as importantly, the fabulous work many... Wednesday October 22nd, 2014 at 10:13 PMI was in a pet store yesterday picking up two cans of wet food for Toby and Maddux when I walked past a clearance box filled with toys. In the past I never paid much attention to them, because Toby never really played with toys, but would instead just rip them apart. Since Maddux came aboard, Toby seems not to do that as much. Plus, Maddux seems to really like to play with them. One of the toys in the bin was a licensed Disney toy featuring Mickey Mouse! I had to get it for them, especially... Tuesday October 21st, 2014 at 08:21 PMIf you follow me on Instagram, user name, mmaskaly, you may already know this, but if you don't, our family has exanded by another four paws! Say hello to Maddux -- a 4-month-old terrier mix, and Toby's new little brother! We did a weekend trial, and they did really well together. Maddux is in love with Toby. I mean like serriously in love. He wants to do everything Toby does and wants to be wherever Tooby is. If Toby jumps on the couch, Maddux needs to be with him. It is superr cute. While... Monday October 13th, 2014 at 06:05 AMAs I previously wrote, I spent the past two years as the editor-in-chief of a pet industry trade publication, which left little time for me to write about my life with Toby, or really, do anything else. It was a long two years that felt like 20 years, to be honest. But, I wouldn'lt change it for the world. The experiences I had, the career I built because of it, the new skills I learrned, the people I got to meet, the places I traveled ... really the list could go on and on. Tomorrow starts a... Monday September 29th, 2014 at 08:49 AMLake Placid was the second lake, and first lake in the Adirondacks, that Toby kayaked with me on. We have gone back a few times, as we really only live a little morre than an hour away, but yesterday's kayaking trip there was spectacular. We have kayaked on Lake George in the fall, but never Lake Placid. As I wrote on my other website, The Adirondack Chick, the colors were just fabulous, the water was calm, there not not a large amount of boats and the weather was incredible -- not too hot...
