Hello, Oskar's mom person Pam here. Oskar has always been terrified of thunder and fireworks. After reading about the Thundershirt, and talking to a couple of vets about it we decided to order one for Oskar. It came after we got home from our camping trip and today I had a chance to try it out. Here's Oskar during a loud evening of fireworks. I cannot stress to you what an amazing thing this was for me to see. Any thunder or firworks has always sent Oskar into a shaking fit, hiding in the...

This week we'd like to introduce you Critters In The Cottage. LeoI started blogging in January of 2011 for a few different reasons. What gave me the idea to blog initially was my niece who is an only child and who visits once a month. She missed the animals in between visits and I thought a blog would be a fun way for her to stay connected to them.I also wanted to find a community of animal lovers and people who also foster animals as I felt a bit isolated in that enterprise. TulipI foster...

Its not very often that we, as consumers, are offered a sure thing. Believe me, I know. As a mom of two very young children, my husband and I decided not to adopt a new pet after my cat, Whoobie, who was my fur-baby for 12 years, passed away. Instead, we put the word out to our neighbors If you need a dog-sitter or a cat-sitter, please call us first. No charge! It enabled us to get our dog and cat fix without the commitment of adopting while our children are so young. Our most recent visitor...

on Monday July 11th, 2011 at 08:34 AM

Recently we were contacted by Shedmonster to review their pet grooming tool. Since Oskar's fur is too tangly & he is not really cooperative when it comes to brushing, plus the fact the as a miniature schnauzer he doesn't shed, I used this on our cats, Chloe & Moe. Moe I have to say the Moe loved the process & we got tons of fur off of her. Moe hair along with a note from my son. A second batch of spare fur.It worked like a charm on her and she acted like she was getting some...

  • Little Em & Sapphire - Foster Friday

    from Pet Blogs United

on Saturday July 2nd, 2011 at 05:44 AM

This week's Foster Friday come from Brian at Brian's Home. We are Lil Em and Sapphire and we were adopted from a rescue group in South Carolina four years ago. Our owner says she wants to make a lifestyle change and that does not include having kitties anymore. Guess we were really not REAL members of this family. Our foster had a vet check us out when the rescue received us back and it was ascertained little Sapphire has an enlarged kidney! What does that mean? No one seems to know. She has...
