Question: I am currently living in Greece, and want to take my dog to the USA and leave him with my parents. What is the method for this, and will my dog have to stay in a quarantine in America for any amount of time?
Answer: Hello!
Getting your dog imported into the US is relatively simple. All you need to get your dog into the US and past customs is a health certificate (issued by a government approved vet in Greece) no later than 10 days before your departure and your dog needs to have a current rabies vaccine.
We could definitely provide this service for you (we offer the complete door-to-door service). Our specialist that handles moves to and from Greece is Matt Johnson (mathews@petrelocation. com) and he would be happy to give you more specific information, answer any other questions you may have, or a price quote. Also, please check out the information on our site!

Question: Yes, but will my dog have to stay in a quarantine in the United States for any amount of time when we arrive there?
Answer: No. There is no quarantine time when coming into the US, unless you are going to Hawaii. Again, hope this helps and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions.

I have the same problem - my daughter is bringing her dog home from Athens, Greece (to Memphis, TN) in the hold on Air France and I need to know what is required, such as instructions on cage, food, handling while in the hold, etc.

Another thing I would like to know is how strick are they with the "health certificate (issued by a government approved vet in Greece) no later than 10 days before your departure" rule? My daughter has already went to the vet and got the certificate, but she got it 12 days before traveling.
