Last week we moved Lucie & Oscar from Dallas to Singapore, and our import agents sent us a few pictures of them at the quarantine station and in the exercise yard playing. These pictures really do prove that pet "quarantine" isn't always as bad as you'd think, at least at the Singapore Animal Quarantine Station!

It’s official! Northwest Airlines has joined Delta Air Lines, creating the world’s largest airline.
What does this mean for you? For the immediate future, it’s business as usual. Delta Cargo and NWA Cargo will continue to accept live animal shipments, subject to existing live animal acceptance policies, procedures and restrictions, which will remain in effect until further notice. Delta and Northwest are working on harmonizing cargo policy, products and procedures; until such time, you should continue to ship your live animals with Delta and Northwest as you always have. If your live animal shipments are booked on Northwest, you should tender/recover your animals at the Northwest cargo facility. If your live animals are booked on Delta, do business directly with Delta. Although the integration process is already well under way, it will take 12-24 months to complete. During this time, Delta Cargo and NWA Cargo will continue to take great care in transporting your live animals.
Looking forward, the new Delta Cargo will provide new opportunities through a truly global network. The coming year will bring new routes and cargo capacity allowing you to conveniently ship your live animals across the globe.
Please visit deltacargo.com and nwacargo.com for further updates on products and services which will be posted as they become available.

Madeleine Pickens, wife of Texas oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens, has plans to create a massive refuge for about 30,000 wild horses and burros to avoid having the federal government kill or sell the animals for financial reasons.
Mrs. Pickens said Tuesday she wants to buy 1 million acres for the project. Her announcement came after the U.S. Bureau of Land Management said it was considering whether to euthanize some of the animals.
“We have mismanaged the horse situation and I will fix that,” she said. “Everyone is on board with it. They want this project to happen.”
Mrs. Pickens said she is working out the logistics of acquiring the horses, but she believes she can get the process rolling within a year. She declined to discuss a potential location, citing pending negotiations. But she said the refuge would not be in Texas.
As part of her plan, Ms. Pickens said she wants to make the refuge property accessible to the public.
