No Dog Left Behind, a documentary about Operation Baghdad Pups run by our friend Terri Crisp, will be airing on the Military Channel this Sunday, November 15th. Crisp, who is one of my own personal heroes after her brave animal rescue efforts during multiple national disasters (check out her amazing book, Out of Harm's Way), is doing some great things for the abandoned and stray dogs in Iraq as well as the soldiers who love them.
With the proposal of moving Larry the Lobster last week, I've been really surprised to see how many people seem morally opposed to the thought of eating a geriatric lobster. We've gotten several calls imploring us to "Save Larry!" and I have to admit, I didn't think that many people would care about Larry's plight.
A few months ago, we were contacted by Vicky, who was wanting to purchase a Cairn Terrier puppy in the United States to send to Dubai as a surprise for her daughter Daisy. Her friend in Dubai also wanted to purchase a puppy from the same breeder. Vicky was quickly finding out that moving puppies to Dubai isn't always the easiest thing. Pets must be at least 4 months of age to allow for adequate rabies vaccination time.
This morning we got a very special request: Can you move an 
Larry the lobstereleven pound, 70 year-old Lobster from New York to Maine?
As we learned more about the lobster, we found out that his name is Larry and he's somewhat of a crustacean celebrity in New York City. He lives in his own private tank at Oceana Restaurant, a swanky (and yummy) looking restaurant in Rockefeller Center.
For $275 you can eat Larry. That's a lotta' lobster tail.
