Many of our regular blog readers are probably familiar with the ongoing saga of Potato the Pug’s adventures in Greece. For the uninitiated, Potato is a pug that we relocated from Houston, TX to Nafplio, Greece in November, 2008. He’s had quite the adventure and is now living the high life in style. We recently received an update regarding Potato and the recent St. Patrick’s Day festivities, and as you can see in the below photos, she is at the height of holiday couture!

Below are the dates when the animal quarantine offices/stations will be closed in order to celebrate the Chinese New Year:

Shanghai Airport Customs:
Closed: Starting at 1 PM, Fri. 23 January through Sun. 1 February. They will be back at work on Mon. 2 February.

Taiwan Animal Quarantine Inspection:
Closed: Fri. 23 January through Sun. 1 February

Singapore Animal Quarantine Office:
Closed: Mon. 26 January & Tue. 27 January

Today we received this information regarding the Continental Cargo holiday hours:

In observance of the Christmas holiday, Continental Cargo will close its Houston based Cargo Customer Service Center which houses the PetSafe desk at 10pm Central Time on December 24th (Wednesday night) and will reopen at 0600 Central Time on December 26, 2008 (Friday morning).

Below is information on the holiday closings for KLM Cargo and their Animal Hotel in Amsterdam.

*For bookings of Day Old Chicks, Hatching Eggs, Live Horses, and Live Specials:

In observance of Christmas, our Live Animal Desk in Chicago will be closed on December 25 and 26. It will re-open for business on Monday morning, December 29.

Further, the Live Animal Desk will be closed on New Year’s Day, January 1, and it will re-open for business on Friday, January 2.

* For bookings of Live Pets:

The KLM Cargo Customer Service Dept. will be closed on December 25 and January 1 only. As always, you may contact them via ph. 1-800-556-9000.

* For bookings of Live Horses on other carriers:

In observance of Christmas and the holidays, our KLM Animal Hotel will not be able to accommodate Live Horses for other airlines from December 24 through January 1. The acceptance of Live Horses on other airlines will resume again on January 2, 2009.

Please note that this restriction applies to Live Horses on other airlines only. Live Horses flown on KLM Cargo are not impacted and the Animal Hotel is open for business during the Holidays
