We received a call today from a woman who almost got scammed by a website claiming to have an English bull dog puppy in Alabama. If anyone asks you to wire them a Western Union just to pay for shipping, please BEWARE as this is a scam. This particular scam site is doing business as Country Hospetality. A quick check of their website shows they are using much of PetRelocation's own content, but their site is so poor it's hard to believe anyone would fall for this.
Below is the email we were forwarded. If you get an email like this, or any email stating that they are giving away free english bull dog puppies, please do NOT send them money as there IS NO PUPPY. Even if they send you pictures, it is just a fake picture of a bulldog puppy.

We recently relocated Xena, an English bull dog with a penchant for hot pink, from San Francisco to London, England. Many airlines won't accept bull dogs due to their delicate nature, but as long as care is taken to prepare bull dogs for shipping, they can travel safely. In order to get Xena to London, we had to first meet all of the requirements for the UK, and then import her into Amsterdam on one of KLM's pet safe flights. She spent the night at the Pet Hotel in Amsterdam and then traveled on to London, where her owners picked her up from the animal reception center. Now Xena lives at RAF Lakenheath with her family and attends burrito sales at the hangars! Her owner, Kathrine, sent our UK Expert, Scotty, an email along with the pictures:

She's doing great here and loves the cold! If I haven't already, thank you so much for everything- I've already recommended you and your company to many of our friends.

Apparently it snowed in London, which Xena loves -- she even goes snowboarding! Here's Xena in her backyard in the snow.

Subject: Bulldogs in Abu Dhabi

Question: Good afternoon,

I have read through your PetRelocation blog and thought you might be the perfect person to whom I should ask this question.

I have a 4 month old English Bulldog puppy. My husband has just started a new job in Abu Dhabi and thinks they will ask him to move in country.

My question is this: Are there any other bulldogs in the UAE? I know it gets so very hot there in the summer, but of course, she would be inside in the A/C with me. I also know that under no circumstances would I relocate her during those hot months. I was more curious as to how you think she would do, living there?

Thanks so much for your question! You're right, keeping your bulldog healthy in Abu Dhabi is something that will take some special considerations. First, due to the potential respiratory problems of all snub nosed breeds, not just bulldogs, we won't even put them on a plane. The health risks just make it too unsafe for us to feel comfortable with. As far as Abu Dhabi, we actually have a specialist who just got back from there (she was visiting family), and according to her, the air quality is pretty poor. The dust is everywhere and for a dog as sensitive as a bulldog, you might run into some problems. Although temperature is important, not being able to breathe properly is actually the biggest risk when considering whether or not to move your dog. Sorry I couldn't offer a solution or more positive answer. If you would like to get a more specific explanation, our specialist, Scotty would be able to give you more information on why bulldogs are at such an increased risk and maybe some helpful information on how you would be able to move her if you decide to go ahead and do so.
