Question: Hello, I am not actually moving, but just visiting Greece for about 1 month, and then returning to the UK with my dog. Do I need to complete all the same vaccinations and USDA approvals for this? Or what is it that I must do? Thank you, Tamara A.
A few months ago, I moved a Pug to Nafplio, Greece from Hawaii. We've blogged about her before on our old blog, but I just recently got an email from her owner who loves to dress her up.

For the uninitiated, Potato is a pug that we relocated from Houston, TX to Nafplio, Greece in November, 2008. He’s had quite the adventure and is now living the high life in style. We recently received an update regarding Potato and the recent St. Patrick’s Day festivities, and as you can see in the below photos, she is at the height of holiday couture!

Question: Hi,
My sister will be coming to visit me in Athens, her dog just had puppies so she wants to bring me one.
Can you please confirm what documentation she will need and if the puppy will have to go to the quarantine?

Answer: Hi Alisa,
Thanks for your inquiry. Your sister could take the puppy to Athens, but the puppy will need to have a rabies vaccination prior to departure and then wait at least 30 days before it can travel to Greece. You'll also need to fulfill the other Greece import requirements for pets.
If it is under 3 months of age (which is usually when veterinarian's recommend having pets vaccinated for rabies), we do not recommend international air travel.

Remember Potato, the pug who traveled to Nafplio? We got this great picture of Potato and her owner in Greece over the weekend! Potato's been enjoying her new Greek life except that her owner reports to us that she doesn't like riding in the elevator in their house.
