Because of forecasted deteriorating weather conditions at Cleveland (CLE), OH and Newark (EWR), NJ (New York) on Wednesday, Continental Airlines will not be accepting "transferring" animals through CLE or EWR on this day. We will, however, continue to move originating and terminating animals in these cities (animals that either originate or terminate at EWR or CLE on Wednesday).
The forecast we've been given calls for the following:
CLE - SNOW EVENT FOR WED. EXPECT 8IN OR MORE OF SNOW ACCUM.
WILL REDUCE CO FLIGHTS AND CANCELLATIONS WILL AFFECT CLE DEPARTURES
THRU 11AM LOCAL TIME.
EWR- SNOW FCTSD TO BEGIN AT AROUND MIDNIGHT TUES NIGHT LOCAL TIME.
3-4 IN OF SNOW BY 0900 LOCAL. CHANGE OVER TO ICE PELLETS/SNOW
AND/OR RAIN BTW 9-11AM LCL. BY 1100 LOCAL EXPECT TO CHANGE
OVER TO ALL RAIN. WILL CANCEL WILL CANCEL SOME LATE NIGHT TUES NIGHT
FLIGHTS AND FIRST FLIGHTS WED. MORNING. NOTE THAT THERE IS A DEGREE
OF UNCERTAINTY OF THE PRECIP TYPE FOR THE LATE MORNING OPERATION..
The PetSafe desk is monitoring the booked animals during these times and will rebook as needed.

We just received this update from our Continental QuickPak PetSafe representative:
We've been advised by our System Operations team that we will have deteriorating weather conditions in the Newark area on Thursday, January 15 and as a result, we will see cancelled flights and extended delays here at Continental Airlines. Because of this, we are not taking any additional bookings for live animals that will originate, terminate or transit the Newark hub on January 15 (we're still accepting bookings for all other cities, even in the Northeastern U.S.). We are also evaluating the animals that are already booked in/out or through Newark for Thursday and will be contacting customers if we see their flight will be affected.
