Meet Trent, Max and Mimi! Their parents wanted some photos of their three kiddos together so we met up at a park this past summer and to our surprise the park was unexpectedly crowded that day. After walking around for a few minutes we were able to find some little secluded areas where I could strategically photograph around the groups of people. Everything ended up working out really well and I have to say that it was pretty darn adorable watching Trent playing with his two best friends,...

Guinness and Riley were still just puppies when I photographed them this past spring. Their dad had recently finished building them an amazing custom dog house complete with their own little porch, water bowl and mini adirondack chair. I mean really, it just doesnt get any better than that! One of my personal favorite shots from their session was when their father stuck his head through the dog door to surprise and play with Guinness and Riley and the girls rushed right up to give him...

I first met Sara Berry in 2001 at the University of Hawaii in a photo lecture class. We both were majoring in photography, loved dogs (she had a Doberman at the time named Sampson that I adored), her husband was in the Navy and my husband (boyfriend at the time) was in the Army, so Sara and I quickly became great friends. Sara has a great blog and you can see a photo of Sara at my wedding here (shes the one holding her adorable son, Hunter). Ever since I have known her, her husband has been...

Oh yes, I am talking about the dog show of all dog shows that one! Mollys parents needed mainly conformation shots, sporting shots, portraits as well as action shots, and I...

I was asked to photograph Stud and Girlfriend this past spring as a surprise anniversary gift for their mom. Stud and Girlfriend are two sweet lab mixes who were brimming with energy, big smiles and lots of kisses! These two cuties didnt know any commands but with a little love, patience, practice and lots of treats we were able to get some beautiful photographs of them sitting and laying in front of their fountain just like their dad had wanted. Stud and Girlfriend loved all of the...

Several weekends ago I attended a workshop by one of my favorite photographers, Shannon Sewell, whose style has always been an inspiration to me. The subjects we photograph and the way we photograph couldnt be more different but I believe its important to push yourself beyond your comfort zone and try new things I am constantly pushing myself to learn and grow as a photographer. Shannon photographs stylized and posed children, which is a 180 degree difference from candid pet photography,...
