Mias photos are another secret surprise! She was foster failure from Secondhand Hounds, so again, please dont let the cat.errr.dog out of the bag! Shes a small girl, really sweet and had a great time exploring during our session. She was being really slow and calm, so we started running around, trying to rile her up and have some fun, which she did. I LOVE this first image

A Husky / Mastiff / Mystery mix, Stella was adopted when she was just 2 months old from Secondhand Hounds. Shes now over 6 months and is one of the calmest, sweetest pups Ive ever met. Add to that her striking good looks, and this girl will melt your heart. Check out her adoption photo here.

Its time again for the Walters Wish Calendar! This year, we opted to shoot all the dogs in-studio, and I think they look great! The launch party will be at Ninas on Sunday, November 14th from 7pm 10pm. There will be great live music from Billy McLaughlin, fabulous silent auction items to bid on, artwork by yours truly, and brand new 2011 calendars to get your paws on! Sweet Noir. Hes the first Giant Schnauzer Ive had the pleasure to photograph, and hes a big, gentle giant. His mom contacted me on September 30th, when they first found out he had Lymphoma. She said, at best, he would have 4-6 months left. We scheduled our session for October 9th, early in the morning to get some nice sun. These boys are BFFs, bringing to mind this fantastic musical number from the show Scrubs. JoJo is the Blenheim and GL (Good Lookin) is the Tri, and theyre both super sweet Cavaliers. JoJo is a show dog, and you can usually find them both hanging out at their mom and dads vet clinic in Shoreview, where theyve got wiggles and kisses for everyone.

A couple weeks ago, I had the chance to do something Ive wanted to do for a long time. photograph a horse in my studio style. Horses are a lot like cats, in that they dont do what you want, and they dont stay in one place. Take those attributes, add about a thousand pounds and youve got a good challenge on your hands! I love Sophies crimped beard and her affinity toward tennis balls.Its so fun seeing other Schnauzers show the same mannerisms as Gracie. She and Sophie have the same expressions, the same stance, the same walk and the same grumbles. When Togos mom first contacted me, she said hes SO high energy that she has few photos of him that arent blurry, and was dubious if we could even get him to settle down. Ive had my share of rambunctious dogs in the studio, and I have a lot of patience, so we thought wed give it a try. Holy cow. Togo is an enormous bundle of bounces and kisses and crazy! He does love treats, and will do most anything for them, so that was our golden ticket.
