There’s just something about Boston Terriers that makes them really photogenic. Is it the smooshed face? The wrinkles? The googly eyes? Whatever it is, it’s magic.

This one is weird and I like it. Tippy-toes.

A girl and her dogs. This session definitely reminded me of when I was a kid, and the special bond I had with my pets. Anna was such a great model and so good with these guys, it made the session really fun! Freddy is the Basenji/German Shepherd, and Robbie is the Finnish Spitz. This was another case of not being able to narrow down my favorites, so get ready for a long post! Doesn’t she have a gorgeous smile!

This was Freddy’s m.o. for most of our session….. looking away and striking handsome poses.

Robbie was a little more into it….

So the previous post featured a German Shorthair Pointer… this big scruffle-muffin is a German Wirehair Pointer. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love scruff. The wirey, crazy eyebrows, beard, mohawk…. Love it. I had alot of favorites of this guy, but here’s just a sampling of them. (isn’t he cute!!)

Here’s a close-up of the scruff I can’t get enough of….

Thank you Rufus! If anyone knows you out there, I hope they don’t spoil these surprise photos for your dad!

Hi blog-friends! I’ve noticed a few of my artsy-friends in town are getting nominations for the Metro Mag 2010 Keeper Awards, and I thought I should try to nab some votes too. Here’s a little blurb from the site:

A “Keeper” is an up-and-coming Twin Cities artist who is so bananas-talented that we never want him/her to leave. To keep (get it?) these future art stars from skipping town, we’re writing a splashy story about them in our January 2010 issue, giving them a killer trophy (designed by 2009 Keeper Andrea Stanislav) and throwing a party in their honor (details to come).

So if you think I’m “bananas-talented” I’d love for you (and your friends!) to nominate me! The deadline is next Thursday, October 29th. To sweeten the pot a bit, if I’m chosen as one of the Keepers, there’s going to be a fabulous prize for one of YOU! (details, of course, to come)

Click here to nominate me OR any other fabulous artist you think should win. It’s super easy, so vote today!

The two gorgeous old girls won a Studio Session from a Home For Life silent auction earlier this spring! I love the endearing, grey face of a dog who’s been loved for so many years. Benelli is the Pointer and Lady is the Schipperke, and they’re both so spunky, you wouldn’t guess they were seniors.
