Pet Products Review:  Smucci Holiday Manager Pet Bed by DDK Designs

Well the big Christmas tree went up last night in Rockefeller Center, so the holiday season is officially upon us.  And if you're like me, this is the season to really get into the spirit with decoration, cooking, entertaining friends and family and more.   In fact, I am planning on spending the whole weekend preparing my house for the holiday festivities.

If you're the same kind of person and full of holiday spirit, I've found just the perfect holiday pet bed for you.  Smucci is a brand of hand-crafted designer pet beds by well known Michigan based artist Debi Kahn.  Her latest creation is the Smucci Holiday Manger pet bed. This pet bed looks just like the mangers you see in a navitivity scene, but of course the canine and feline heaven sent.  Dimensions are 23" x 20"x 17" which makes for a nice compliment to any holiday Tree.   The base is constructed of solid hand-crafted wood, and the pillow is a soft minky brown color to resemble hay.  The pillow cover is made of 100% machine washable fabric.

The Manger bed can be purchased directly from the artist at www.ddkdesigns.net at a cost of $300 and this includes shipping.

What a cute idea. A holiday bed for the Church Cat. What would be precious is an even smaller bed for the church mouse.

I saw one of these at a show and they are really neat. The pattern on the pillow is a photograph of straw but it's a very soft pillow.

I have a Smucci dog bed in my photography studio for my Peke and he loves it. The concrete floor isn't what he is used to and having a Smucci for him to lay in is great. I really like the little "dog tag" branding attached to the bed so when people see it they know its a real Smucci!

What a wonderful idea. It looks just like the manger in the nativity scene my mom would set up at Christmas time when I was a little girl. It's a magical memory.

Dec 8,2008 8:00 pm What wonderful fabrics from Smucci. Could I have some for a jacket? I like the feathers from the feather bed. And the green gingko. I don't have a dog but would appreciate some of that wonder ful fabric. Mom

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. How well written it is, and you really captured the essence of my intent with this seasonal bed. Our beloved pets are truly heaven sent, as they lift our spirits and overwhelm our hearts. When I am successful, someday soon I hope, I plan to dedicate a portion of my profit to helping the domesticated pets who have somehow been forgotten, pushed aside, and neglected or abused. I wish that each of them will be fortunate enough to find safety and happiness, and a manger bed to sleep in each night. Truly, they are innocent and unconditionally free loving and spirited. Wow, I can't thank you enough! – Debi
