Pet Products Review - IDTAG.com

You know what the very best part about giving bling for Valentines is?  Well it means you can tell your lovey they're your sweatheart every day.  Well the makers of Little Gifts a leading manufacturer of pet products and giftware, have combined safety and style for dogs and cats.  The new spectactular IDTAG.com uses a stylish identification tag with its own unique serial number or pet "social security number" enabling the owners to create a secure, on-line profile containing curren photos, videos, health records and evergency contact information for their dog or cat.  So if your precious one ever runs off, and god forbid goes missing, one call to the IDTAG.com emergency support line or a click of the mouse and you set an instant lost pet alert.  Alerts are then sent to all the shelters in your area, vets, and rescue groups within 50 miles of where the pet was last seen. It like an amber alert for your pet.

What I like about this little tag, is that it does actually look like jewelry. Not one of those big clunky boxes that I see on some dogs.

its a neat concept, they seem like another type of recovery tag like www.returnmoipets.com (they offer a reward which is good i think) and www.pawtags.com much better than regular pet tags

Seems like this tag allows you to post your own reward on their website.. that's pretty cool.

Bought one of these tags for my dog today. Went online to "register" for free year of service and stated on packaging only to find out that to get the free year you have to register your credit card and all info. They do state that you will be called prior to them re-activating another year on your credit card but can't help but wonder if this is a scam. Who gives there credit card information out for a free service as you can't register the tag without it? Will they really call you before they charge your card with another year? Obviously they aren't in it for the love of the animal but rather the profit margin to be had.

Good point to the Anonymous contributor above. But keep in mind with any business there are management fees, and there were design and manufacture fees. Plus, to keep a full time staff of operators who make the call on your lost pets' behalf is costly. I think the free years trial is an awesome offer and you're not obligated to continue. But like any offer, YOU are the consumer, and its your responsibility to keep track of offer expires. I recommend making a note in your calendar in one years time to call the customer service number to make a cancel. Also include in your note to yourself the customer service number and your contract number.
