Pet Product Reviews - 3 Minute Microwavable PetCakes by Lucky Paws

                     Lucky Paws Microwavable PetCakes

Buddha and his Cheese Nip PetCake I love to bake but don't always have the time so, when I came across the Lucky Paws website advertising microwavable PetCakes, it piqued my interest. We sampled both the Cheese Nip PetCakes for cats and the Carob PetCakes for dogs. The only ingredients I added were water and tuna for the kitty cakes; peanut butter for the puppy cakes. I also took my daughter's suggestion to substitute tuna water for part of the 1/3 cup of water called for in the Cheese Nip recipe. I put them in the microwave for 2.5 minutes and voilà, instant homemade treats!

Shakespeare with the Carob Flavored PetCakes With the smell of tuna wafting through the air, I was surrounded by all the cats and both dogs throughout the cooking and cooling-off process. I think the texture of the fish shaped tuna/cheese cakes threw the cats off their game for a minute, but they quickly rebounded and gobbled away. The dogs couldn't get enough of the carob/peanut butter cakes! Of course they immediately moved their cakes from my fancy plates to the carpeted floor. What was I thinking?! Shakespeare was so enthusiastic about the Carob Cakes that he had to stop in mid-munch to verify that Joey hadn't left any crumbs behind before he could finish!

I tried these this past weekend and were a hit with our Golden Retriever. Quick and oh so easy to make. My only problem was getting them to come out of the mold in one piece ...and I liberally used Crisco spray in the molds. Any hints for better remova?
