Pet Product Review - Hot Dog Balm by Jackson Sage

Forget the dog.... I kept this product for myself, 'cause I LOVE IT!!!

The Hot Dog Balm from Jackson Sage.  If I can tell you, this balm is a spa in a jar!  I love it, and someday, I may share with my pet.

The balm is the perfect all natural remedy for skin irritations, infections, hot spots and other minor skin inflictions.  But one smell, and you, like me will want it for yourself.  My dog had no minor skin problems, but I tried it on my rough elbows and nicks from gardening over the weekend.  In one day, those little scrapes were gone and my dry bits smooth.  Plus the smell is heavenly good, I swear.

What makes it so good, I don't know, but here is information from the manufacturer Jackson Sage:

Pet Product Review - Grannicks Bitter Apple Original Spray for Dogs

If you have a puppy, or a dog, I'm sure at least once you've bought Grannicks Bitter Apple Original Spray for Dog.

Grannicks_bitter_apple_thumb

Invented by a pharmacist in 1960, Grannicks Bitter Apple Original Spray for Dogs is a non-toxic, safe and effective chew deterrent. Has a bitter taste to discourage pets from licking, gnawing and chewing on surfaces where applied. Stops pets from biting and chewing fur, wounds and bandages. Bitter Apple for dogs is available in a variety of sizes: 8 oz. Spray, 16 oz. Spray, 16 oz. Refill and 32 oz. Refill.

But does it work?  Well... my puppy Charlie is going through teething.  And although the product was specifically made for hot spots, fur biting and hair chewing, I hoped it would help prevent him from nibbling at the corner of my oriental rug.  The rug after 3 days of spraying is still being nibbled on.

The product may work for skin and hair conditions, but I wouldn't recommend it as a deterent to surface chewing.

You can find Grannicks Bitter Apple at most every pet store, or get an 8 FL OZ bottle for only $5.89 from Greg-Robert Pet Supply:

Pet Product Reviews - Garvin's ISP Ointment

I was sent a sample of my favorite new skin restoration and condition ointment.  Its called ISP Ointment and quite frankly, I'm recommending that you go directly to Garvin's site to get full information on the products and it's benefits www.garvinsisp.com and order some:  http://garvinsisp.com/store/index.php3

Isp_ointment_thumb

Why do I like this product?  Because I used it on myself and it worked wonders.  I burnt my index finger on the oven; not fun.  Well that same morning my sample came and I thought, well let me try it since neither of my pets have a skin condition.  In 3 days my bad burn was gone and the skin restored to normal; and I didn't even use a lot of ointment.

I contacted the company Garvins ISP if it was ok for human use and they said "yes, of course".  The Garvin's ISP Ointment contains a blend of iodine, sulfur & cocoa butter in a soothing and protective base of refined petrolatum.  It's completely non toxic and unconditionally guaranteed for all skin and nail problems.  That's right, money back if you're not happy.  It's great for Dogs, Cats, Horses, even Ferrets.  So anytime you get a dry patch or itchy irritated skin, perhaps a hot spot, go straight to your cupboard and use your Garvin's ISP ointment.

Again the link to get your 4oz jar of Garvins' ISP Ointment is:  http://garvinsisp.com/store/index.php3  Considering that a 1/2 oz tube of Neosporin is $5.  Its a bargain.  Be forewarned however, Garvins' has a distinctive smell.  I think it smells of chicken soup boullion, but the people at Garvins' tell me its the smell of all natural cocoa butter.  Don't worry, it blends into your skin with in moments.

Pet Product Review - Ark Naturals Neem “Protect” Spray 8 oz

Many people ask me for product recommendations when their pet has particular conditions.  The other week and friend of mine with a pug asked me what spray I would recommend for those little bites and irritations that cause her little "Nigel" to pick and chew on.  So, I asked my vet.  Her recommendation, Ark Naturals Neem “Protect” Spray.

Ark Naturals Neem “Protect” Spray

I said to myself, neem?  what's that?  Well, A very famous herb of India with worldwide fame and having magical properties known for its miraculous medicinal values from past 5000 years. on www.Arknaturals.com they say; "Ark’s Neem “Protect” Spray is environmentally friendly, gentle and a non-drying formula for pets including: dogs, cats and horses. It’s perfect for animals with skin and coat issues including insect bites and skin and coat irritation" and my vet agrees.

Pet Product Review -Nurtured Pets Anti Lick Strips Prevent

Ever come across a product and then say to yourself "where have you been?, I needed you last month".  Thats exactly what happened to me when I got a sample for Nurtured Pets.  I was send a trial pack of Nurtured Pets Anti Lick Strips in the small dog size.

anti lick stripThese folks are so clever.  They made a bandage specifically designed for dogs.  I know, this type of product has been around for a long time, but not to the general public, at least not in my neighborhood.  I've looked.

In the Fall, my dog Champ had a small irritation, probably caused by an insect bite.  Well, the dog is very smart, and when he noticed I tried to be Florence Nightengale with my feeble attempt to use a human band aid, he played it up to the hilt.  He started to hop, and pretend that his leg was hurting because he knew I'd give him a little treat afterwards.  $1,600 later, after a visit to the vet with a full check up, x-rays and such, my vet, who I'm not a huge fan of, says "he's just acting, this is the the healthiest dog I've ever seen."  And would you know, Champ immediately stopped acting and has walked perfect ever since.

What I'm getting at is if I had seen a little mosquito bite, hot spot or granulomas (word of the day) with a Nurtured Pets Anti-Lick Strip Prevent I would have applied a stip and not worried so quickly.  There is nothing chemical or unnatural about the Nurtured Pets Anti Lick Strips Prevent, they use natural cayenne pepper to deter licking.

You can buy trial packs of two or better yet retail size packs of 6 directly from wwww.nurturedpets.com.  Nurtured Pets Anti Lick Strips Prevent really are a must have as the weather warms and walks get longer.
