Pet Products Review - Flexi Retractable leash for Cats
So ever think about taking your cat for a walk. I'm sure they'd like it. But it just seems so unnatural. Mostly because up until now there have not been any products, leashes or even harnesses to take your feline for a promanade.
Well finally Flexy the world's leader in reliable well constructed retractable leashes hass developed a retractable leash just for cats.
The leash extends up to 10 feet and has two buttons right by the thumb that operate teh lock and secure the brake.
I used the leash with my cat stinky. It did take a while. At first we went only in the hallway of my building, but then I took him to the vet for his annual physical and vaccinations and used it as a back up to his crate. It felt nice to have that extra protection should he get loose.
But I do have some hesitations about this leash. Cats are very unpredictable, so I guess I cannot recommend walking your cat. That's the first, Next, you need to have a harness. If you don't have a harness, forget about it. Also have patience. This is something you would use after attempting to walk your cat in a small room for months. Don't have high expectations up front. Pet Products Review - DOOG All Weather Walkers Belt
You know what i love about April???? Summer is right around the corner! You know what I love about Summer, super long walks with my best bud, Champ on the beach and in the mountains or just on the city streets. There are days when we can walk for hours.
Well, the people at DOOG, which stands for Dog Owners Outdoor Gear sent me a sample of their professional All Weather Dog Walkers Belt. Did they read my mind or what? This is a beautiful and practical gift. What the DOOG All Weather Walkers Belt comprises is a waist pack style belt with multiple compartments. My immediate review is that I love the belt. The one that was sent to me was a cherry red color, but they also come in Black, Camo, Pastel Green and Polka Dot. The material is an indestructible nylon that has been treated with an antibacterial agent. There are compartments for treats, keys and money, and it comes fully loaded with two packs of waste bags. A loop is added to clip on your cell phone or iPod and there is a carabiner for hooking on leashes.
Now as much as i love the belt, I gave it to Champ's dog walker Cathy. Cathy was very grateful as she does use all of these features and walks dogs for about 3 hours a day. She did mention to me that she wished the front pouch was bigger as she carries a good sized baggie of treats for her dog, and she was concerned that the waste bags would run out in a day, and it might be very expensive to replace. She did say, however that the red styling, was a significant improvement from her 5 year old fanny pack.
All in all, if you're looking for a gift for yourself or for a dog lover, this one hits the spot. But, if you're a professional dog walker, you might want something that can accommodate bags, treats and many keys en masse.

Its as simple as this, if you take your dog on a boat, make sure he's wearing a life jacket. Think about it, with children, its the law. All children on a boat must wear a life jacket, so why should it be any different for a dog. I especially feel strongly about this since there are some great inexpensive options for you. Now watching this video I was totally reminded how the hardest part of lifting a dog out of water is that they actually fall under the boat or dock. Case in point, my dog Champ, who loves the family boat, did not fall off the boat itself, but jumped from the parked boat to the dock last summer. Even though we were only 5 feet from the shore, he was scared. Lifting him out from under the dock was a bit of an traumatic for all of us.

Pet Products Review - Tuffy's The "Tuffest" Soft Dog Toy
How often do you buy a dog toy, especially a soft dog toy, and in a matter of days, the toy is gone. Sometimes the toy just disapears other times its ripped to shreds. Its a problem those of us with bigger dogs face all the time.
Whats wrong with this picture: 1. you've got a toy that could be dangerous and 2. you're got a toy that just cost you a whole lot of money.
Speed our Pitbull friend helped us test out Tuffy's Captain Toothless, Alligator, the Lime green alligator with a pink tongue and green, yellow, black and brow spots. Tuffy's gave Captain Toothless a Tuffy's rating of 6. I like their tuffness scale. 5 is where most dog toy companies stop, andTuffy's begin and a 10 is without a doubt the toughest toy around.
Speed loves this toy! Loves it. Plays with it all the time. But in two days, the tail was ripped open and so was the mouth. At $23 this toy was costly. But, it only means that we did not go high enough on the Tuff scale. Next time we'll try a toy with a tuff scale rating of 8 or higher.
What I like about Tuffy's is that these toys are not only made to be tough, they are made to be safe and use only non-toxic materials. Plus, the company backs up their toys. If you're not happy, they have a toll free number in which you can consult to find the toy with just the right tuffness.
