Pet Products Review - Dogzilla® Durable Rubber Toys

So the good people at Aspen Pet Products, Inc. asked if I can review their Dogzilla dog toys.  Of course I said yes.  But I didn't expect the huge variety they would send me.  I was shocked.  They literally have a dog toy for every size dog and every type of play.  It is amazing.

So, I'm going to start today with the Dogzilla® Durable Rubber Toys:

Here is my friend Scar playing with his Dogzilla Toy and can I tell you he just loved his Dogzilla filled with peanut butter.

Can I tell you every dog owner needs a collection of these rubber toys.  They are wonderful.  Perfect to ease moments of anxiety when your pet is bored because each toy has a cavity that can be filled with a treat, biscuit or peanut butter.  Your pup will be occupied for quite some time.  But these toys are much more than just a rubber toy that holds a treat, they are special.  Here is what Aspen Pet says about them:

A strong rubber toy with chicken flavor* that dogs love

Meet Dogzilla®! These are the ultimate dog toys created with a revolutionary new process that infuses chicken flavor in the rubber. Dogzilla® has the right taste and smell for your pup! The three unique designs come in four sizes including Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large. If your dog chews through one of the Dogzilla toys, immediately replace it with another Dogzilla a size larger.

A Bit of Advice: NOT A FOOD PRODUCT. For your dog's safety, please replace any damaged Dogzilla®s immediately. If your pup chews through the toy too quickly, be sure to replace with a size larger to give him or her more of a challenge. This toy provides no significant nutrients or nutritional value.

You can buy Dogzilla Rubber Toys just about anywhere.  I like the selection at Drs. Foster and Smith.  They have many different sizes at reasonable price starting from $9.99 to 15.99.  Order yours here:

Pet Product Review - Calming Collars

I found the perfect gift for any Cat, Dog or Human... The Calming Collar.  OMG.... I LOVE IT.

Calmmedown_thumb

The manufacturers; The Mendez Group,  sent me two samples, a small and a medium.  I immediately put the medium on my cat and the small on my 10 week old puppy.  I'd say within 10 minutes, they were both asleep contently.  They did not mind the collar at all.  Of course, I thought wow! this works so well that perhaps the lavender and herbs were too powerful and possibly dangerous for a puppy.  So I contacted Deb at Mendez Group and she assured me that they were fine.  The collars have no essential oils, only a carefully blended combination of lavender and herbs. 100% all natural and the fabric is non toxic as well.

Here is what their site had to say:

The beauty of our products is not only that they work, but that they work using NATURAL methods. You just clip our collars on your pet and let the herbal blends work naturally to calm your pet. Stress relief is just minutes away for your loved one. Reduce dog anxiety and or cat stress!

Our Calming Collars (Patent Pending) are filled with a blend of natural herbs. Our blends were specifically developed to help with certain conditions, like excessive barking, hyper-activity, stress, anxiety and fear due to loud noises, storms and thunder (thunderphobia), separation anxiety and more!

Another added bonus is that it makes your house smell wonderful!  I showed it to two friends and they want one, not for their pets but to put under their pillows at night.  They are lovely.   Here is my cat Stinky wearing his:

I'd love to try the collar they have for car anxiety.  That has always been an issue with all of my dogs.

Order your Calm Me Collar for $32 directly at:  http://www.calmingcollars.com/digishop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=4  I'd recommend you buy one size larger than you think you may need.  The collars are a bit snug.  Stinky is wearing a size medium.

Pet Products Review - THUNDERSHIRT the Best Solution for Noise Anxiety

My motto is simplicity works best.  And what can be more simple than a hug?  Its the natural way of saying in any situation "everything is alright".  It might not be scientific, but it aways works.

Now let's apply that concept to pet anxiety, especially anxiety when caused by noise.  Thunder, Fire Works, Vacuums, Police Sirens we here them every day, especially in the summer.  Well to a dog, who's hearing capability is far superior to ours, these noises are traumatic.  I remember when a fire truck or siren would pass by, Champ would howl, shake and scrunch down in fear.

THUNDERSHIRT the Best Solution for Noise Anxiety

Well there is an all natural unbelieveably simple and magnificently effective product for this called Thundershirt.  Thundershirt is a full body wrap that is especially designed to give your dog a firm and snug hug during the time when noise anxiety are present.  Thundershirts work and they work without drugs, training and no instructions.  Every dog owner should have one.

I recommend you go to www.Thundershirt.com to get more information on the product and noise anxiety and buy your dog a Thundershirt.  Do it now before the 4th of July.  The $36 price is well worth it.

Pet Products Review:  Salix Premium Beefhide Beef Basted Ribs 2 lbs Bag

So the othere day, I'm in Walmart and whenever I am at Walmart, I stock of on dog food, cat food and treats.  They simply have the best prices for pet product.  On this particular trip, I wanted to get some raw hide treats.  Reason being, is I'm going on vacation the first week in March and I wanted to make sure that the dog sitter had ample chew treats that would keep my dog occupied while I was gone.  Well, you may know if you've gone shopping lately, these chew treats are very expensive.  Lucky for me, Walmart sells Salix Primum Beefhide treats.

salix beef basted ribs

I am trying out the Beef Basted Ribs that come in a 2 lbs bag.  You can't beat the price at $5.49 for a the entire bag.  Compared to pigs ears which I on occassion for the same reason, to keep my dog busy, they can cost about $2 per ear.

Salix American Beefhide Beef Basted Ribs did at first concern me, because unline raw hide chews, they splinter a bit and was worried about choking.  But after giving my dog one, I noticed that rather than splintering, the ribs actually crumble, and stay very soft.  The package says they veterinarian approved, who knows, but they . They also help to reduce tartar buildup, something I value since keeping my dogs’ teeth cleaned and healthy is important.

Salix says these are handmade in Brazil, and they come with a satisfaction guarantee. They’re about three inches long and look like real short ribs.  Well, my dog seems to like them and I think they're good for an occassional chew treat.
