Pet product review -Buddy Belt Dog Harness

If you've been reading my blog, you will know that walking my dog and his comfort is one of the most important things to me. I think every dog needs a proper collar, a good sturdy leash and I always recommend a harness. I recommend harnesses because the league needs the stress around the neck. Well today I was introduced to probably the nicest harness I've seen.  It's called Buddy Belt.

What I like most about this harness is its design. It is so easy to put on your dog. No more wondering which lay goes into which hole and which strap snaps were.  this harness looks beautiful, and is made of highest-quality.

I went online and found that the very best prices and best selection are on a site called Dog And Collar.  You must check out their site at www.dogandcollar.com.

Here is a short video on the collar:

Really, do go to th to to their site and order yours: http://www.dogandcollar.com/buddy-belt.html

Pet Product Review - Bow Wow Bag "A Walkin' Dog's Tote"

This Labor Day weekend was so special to me.  Why?  because I had cherished hours with my puppy Charlie.  We litterally walked everywhere.  We went to the dog run, to the park, to the playground, shopping and more.  He loved it.  And what was really great is that being outside helped accelerate his house training and dog/people socialization.  What made it very special was that we sported our new Bow Wow Bag.

The great people at Prairie Mutt, LLC. the manufacturer of Bow Wow Bag, sent me a sample of their clever and practical Bow Wow Bag, A Walkin' Dog's Tote.

With a Bow Wow Bag, you can hang up those old cargo pants!  No more need for overloaded pockets.  Simply attach with the ultra sturdy velcro strap the Bow Wow Bag to any leash handle/loop and away you go.  Now you've got the most portable light weight tote to carry all your doggie essentials:

balls, toys, nylon travel water bowls, treats, whistles, anything you may need.  The Bow Wow Bag also stores many waste bags, or discretely hides your used waste bag until you find a proper trash receptacle.

What I love is the interior zippered pocket, so I can also store a spare set of keys or some cash.  I also love the snappy prints, red with white bones, black and white paw prints, zebra; so cool.

You can find your Bow Wow Bag at Petco.  They make a great gift, especially to your dog walker.  The price is right too, under $10 for a large Bow Wow bag and under $9 for a small or medium. For more information do go to their website at www.BowWowBag.com.

OK simply put Rascodog's ReadyLeash is my favorite dog leash and I highly recommend this product.

Readyleash_thumb

Here is why I love this leash:

1. It is surprisingly light weight

2. The grip is fantastically strong and ergonomic, so no more pulling and run away dogs

3. The leash is not retractable, so your pup stays at perfect distance to you while walking

4. The Rascodog ReadyBags make poop clean up very easy and simple

5. The Rascodog ReadLeash is super well constructed at a price you can not beat

I truly love the sample Rascodog sent to me.  But the story of RascoDog is much bigger than I can write.  Here is a short bit on great RascoDog story:

Dog Waste: Out of Control in U.S Cities

A new dog leash with bags makes it easy to pick up dog poop

Boston, MA - Aug. 5, 2009 - There are few things quite as frustrating as cleaning off your shoes after an unfortunate encounter with dog poop.  Boston based Rascodog, has developed a revolutionary line of eco-friendly pet products reflecting a commitment to cleaning up the environment.  The ReadyLeash combines function and style with built in biodegradable poop bags inconspicuously stored in the belly of the leash handle. Rascodog is helping to clean-up dog neighborhoods all over the country.

"This was truly an invention of necessity," said Rascodog founder and president, Eric Sugalski, " On more than one occasion, we were forced to bum a waste bag off of Oscar's friends at the park because we had forgotten ours.  Now, we can walk and play at the park with confidence knowing we're fully prepared."

Rascodog's ReadyLeash is the latest in dog walking gear combining an comfortable leash handle with an integrated bag roll dispenser.  Just pop in a roll of Rascodog's biodegradable Readybags, and they dispense from the handle like tissues.  Equipped with a 4-foot adjustable lead, the combination grip / bag dispenser and 45 biodegradable Readybags, the ReadyLeash retails for $19.99.

"The ReadyLeash represents an all-In-one solution for responsible pet owners," continued Sugalski.  "And the biodegradable waste bag was really a no-brainer for us.  Our goal at Rascodog is to provide high quality, comfortable, stylish, functional and eco-friendly pet products that enable dog owners to take excellent care of their dogs and their neighborhoods."

Pet Products Review - ipuppyone soft harnesses for dogs

So my little Charlie is getting bigger.  He enjoys his walks and now likes to explore and play in the grass.  So I figured it was time to upgrade his harness.  My choice this go around was the Air Flex soft harness by ipuppyone.

Ipuppyone_airflex_harness_thumb

The ipuppyone Air-Flex harness features both an adjustable neck and body belt. It is 100% polyester mesh, machine wash and dry, with logo patch on the chest.  I chose this vest because it was incredibly light weight and for the hot summer, has lots of ventilation.  The last vest I had was neoprene and could cause heat around the chest for a hairy dog like mine.

I bought my ipuppyone vest at my local pet store, but you can one online for the same price of $19.95 at ClothingYourPet.com  here is the link for the vest with proper sizing information: http://clothingyourpet.com/catalog/ipuppyone-Air-Flex-Hot-Pink-p-16311.html

Here is my adorable Charlie wearing his ipuppyone vest:  Ipuppyonevestcharlie_thumb

Pet Product Review - Adjustable Dog Wheelchair - Walkin' Wheels(tm)  for Handicapped Pets

You know when Champ was sick, I looked at every option available to me that would allow me to keep my pup in my life just a little bit longer.  At one point I thought the help of a canine wheel chair may be a good option.  With that I researched and researched until I found just the right mobility product that I felt comfortable buying, and would be flexible enough to fit my lifestyle too.  The one I recommend is the Adjustable Dog Wheelchair - Walkin' Wheels(tm)  for Handicapped Pets.

Walkin__wheels_thumb

There are many reason why I love this product.  For one, its stylish, and portable, folding up into a small and convenient pack.  The wheels come at a variety of thicknesses, so if you're dog wants to really tear up the dog run, well now he can.  But, most of all it doesnt look like a disability wheel chair, your dog wont feel disadvantaged using it.  You may be laughing, but dogs are keenly aware of how they look, just like people.

The price is in line with other mobility wheel chairs I researched.  The products start at $399, but keep in mind that every wheelchair is completely customized to your dog's size and weight.  There is a site that has all of this information:  www.handicappedpets.com

I like the site and you can make your orders at: http://handicappedpets.com/www/index.php/dog-wheelchair-carts.html

But I do have a huge complaint about this site.  They have temporary wheelchair rentals.  What a wonderful idea.  But I called their office, sent them an email and it took two full weeks for them to get back to me.  Well, Handicapped Pets... don't you think if someone calls your office, they're looking for a solution right away???   Based on that, if you're looking for a retailer that will give you customer service buy the product on www.entirelypets.com.
