Pet Products Review - No Grainers® Dog Biscuits and Treats THE 100% grain-free alternative

As you all know, I shop at Walmart quite a bit.  I love the store for their great prices and high quality selection of pet products, in particular treats.  Well on recent trips, I've seen big displays of a new product called No Grainers.  They certainly caught my attention with the bright blue packaging and healthy message.  So when the people at No Grainers sent me a sample of their 100%Grain Free dog treats, I couldn't wait to try them.

Well, lucky for me my friend Tony moved in just a block away.  He has a 4 year old beautiful Doberman.  During the move she was very anxious and acclimating to the new apartment very stressful.  I brought over a 7 oz bag of No Grainers Hickory Smoked Pork Flavor dog treats and some raw hide and pigs ears.  I thought it would keep her busy while Tony and I moved boxes.  Let me tell you, I was surprised when Senta, the Doberman wanted more No Grainers treats preferring them to the raw hide.  They must be good, and must be tasty.  Because I don't know what could be more delicious to a dog than a smoked pigs ear.

So not only do I recommend No Grainers for their taste, and the fact that they are high in protein, they are healthy too. But those are my words.  Here are the words from the professionals at the manufacturer HBH validated by the press:

"pringville, UT (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 3, 2009 -- Allergies are the number one reason veterinarians treat dogs nationwide, according to the Veterinary Pet Insurance Company (as posted by the American Veterinary Medical Association), costing Americans approximately $16 million in vet bills each year. Many pet owners do not know most dog treats contain inexpensive corn and wheat fillers. In fact, grain-based treats can cause increased allergic reactions in dogs that have sensitivities to corn and wheat. With dog health and happiness in mind, HBH Pet Products carefully formulated No Grainers® Dog Biscuits and Treats as a unique 100% grain-free alternative specifically for pet owners who want to give their dogs a natural reward."

I recommend you stop in your local Walmart store to purchase No Grainers.  The price is right at only $3.50 for a 20 oz bag, can you believe it?!  And for training assistance products to compliment use of the treats go to this Walmart page:  http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=no+grainers&search_constraint=0&tc=0&ic=48_0&ref=+243033.244189&tabvalue=893_All

Pet Products Review: Sergeant's People Crackers - The People Dogs Love To Eat 6.5oz

The People Dogs Love To Eat would you believe I remember these commercials from when I was a little kid.  And trust me, that was a long time ago.  Sergeant's People Crackers have been around forever.

people crackers

I remember being cracked up as a kid, 'cause the crackers are colorful, people shapes your dogs needs to be familiar with; Police Officer, Mail Deliverer, and Milk Deliverer.  They're not very big crackers, just little things. So, that makes them the perfect size for keeping in your pocket for training, and to show a little bit attention every so often.

The box is 6.5oz and can be found in nearly every grocery store.  You can't beat the price at only $1.49 per box.  So in this economy, you might want to take that into consideration and keep a box on hand.  Sergeant's People Crackers will let you continue to spoil your dog without breaking the bank.

What can me improved is the taste.  My dog Champ, he will sit, and obey when I give him one of the treats.  But you can see on his face, he's a bit dissapointed at the reward.  Its kind of like when your grandmother used to give you those old sticky peppermint candies in the middle of the summer and they were left over from Christmas.  Same affect, okay... but ick.

Now right on the box it says "not for human consumption".  But that did not stop the Secret Shopper.  I tasted one.  Remember, they're little crackers.  In fact, I think it was the yellow Police Officer.  I was like "this is nasty".  Trust me there is hardly any taste.  It did vaguely remind me of those stone ground wheat crackers that you buy because they're cheap and you're already spent too much money on the cheese to go on top, but have to drink a full glass of wine to wash them down.  Poor dogs, don't have wine.  Well, what do you expect, the main ingredient in this cracker is: Ground Wheat.

Pet Products Review - Kong 100% Natural Rubber Dog Toy

Ok, Ok, I know what you're going to say.  DUH!  Everyone knows the Kong rubber toys are great.  Well I have to give my 2 cents too.  They are great.  They are indespensible.

My dog Champ has 3 Kong toys.  One always gets lost because he loves to crawl under the bed or my desk and cherish his snack filled toy with delight.  I primarily give Champ his Kong when I'm leaving for the day.  His favorite is when i fill the Kong with peanut butter, and a biscuit.  Although, he gets equally excited if I put a piece of cheese in there too.  Only problem is that sometime the cheese gets pushed to the bottom and I worry that he's tantalized with cheddar torture.

It's kind of funny, he knows when I'm getting ready to leave and whines with anticipation for his coveted Kong. And if you're traveling, its a great item to bring with you to help the dog acclimate to the new surroundings.

I feel good about giving Champ a Kong toy because i know its made of the highest quality indestructible rubber.  Nothing is going to break, chip, choke or harm my pup.  For clean up, I throw Champ's Kongs in the dishwasher. The company puts a lot of care and attention into all their products; including those made for cats.

I think every pet store in the world carries Kong products, but if you want one right away, simply go to www.petsmart.com and order one.
