Pet Product Review - Pet Botanics Training Rewards

As you may know I have a new puppy, his name is Charlie. And I am very proud to say that Charlie has been housetrained in less than two months. In fact he is not an accident in the house, in over one week there is no secret, my training technique is very frequent walks and always rewarding Charlie with a savory treat. The treat I am using this month is premium pork liver Training Reward by Pet Botanics.
What I like about this product is that it's perfectly shaped and sized for one small treats. So this there is no waste and no unnecessary calories. My dog Charlie just seemed to love the taste. Pet Botanics Training Rewards comes in a very convenient resealable of 3.5 oz. They are made in the USA. Always a plus for me. A super premium liver treat for only $3.49.

Pet Products Review - ZiwiPeak Good Dog Deer Antler Treats
About a month ago I was sitting at a very trendy outdoor cafe in New York, and one of my very chic fellow diners had brought her small dog and what looked like a chew bone. Well, let me tell you the dog loved whatever that bone was. Upon closer inspection, I noticed it wasn't a bone at all, but a deer antler. Can you believe it.
So without delaying time, I got myself an antler from ZiwiPeak. My new panelist Corona the 11 month pit bull eagerly tested the sample.

Well let's put it this way, Corona loved this antler. It took her 3 full days to chew the antler completely. That's pretty good for a pit bull. Now what I liked about the antlere treat was that it is completely all natural. No perservatives or chemicals, the antlers are naturally fallen antlers that are soaked in salt water. I also like that the antlers don't splinter like many bones. So its safe to leave the antler with your dog even when you're not home.
ZiwiPeak is a premium all natural pet food company with superior products, but they do come at a premium price. ZiwiPeak antlers start at $9 for a small size, $11 for medium and $13 for a large antler. Go to Only Natural Pets to order:
My one suggestion, order a size medium or large. Although the antler doesnt splinter, I fear that little nob left may be a choking hazard for an avid chewer like a pit bull.

Pet Products Review - Stella and Chewy's Carnivore Kisses™ Angus Beef Freeze Dried Treats 2.75 oz
I want to send a very special thank you out to the folks at Stella and Chewy's. These people were so nice, they sent me a variety of samples of their all natural freeze dried treats. Well, Champ simply loved them.
But unfortunately, late Saturday evening, Champ had a stroke. Its been quite a traumatic experience for all us. Lucky for us, we have an outstanding clinic in New York City that has one of the country's foremost canine neurology specialists. More on this and our long road to recovery will follow.
Anyway, back to Stella and Chewy's Carnivore Kisses™ Angus Beef Freeze Dried Treats 2.75 oz. When Champ was in the hospital, he simply would not eat anything; food nor treats. Well on my way to visit him on his second day in the hospital, I knew that after his spinal tap he needed a really special treat. I grabbed a jar of the Stella and Chewy's Carnivore Kisses™ Angus Beef Freeze Dried Treats. I gingerly fed Champ a handful of treats as he laid his head in my hand, and looked at me with the warmest deep brown eyes. I melted and was so happy I brought Stella & Chewy treats with me. Would you know the clinic aids said "those were the first treats Champ would eat".
What I liked is that these treats not only are as pure and all natural as you can get, but they crumble gently and perfect for his sensitive tummy.
So... Thank you Stella & Chewy's. You're a favorite of ours. Buy your pup those special treats at Lenny The Pug:

Pets Product Review - Cloud Star Provenance dog treats
The good folks at Cloud Star sent Champ and me a box of their new grain-free dog treat called Provenance. Yes, like the name, Provenance is premium with great star shaped cookie design. Provenance means in French "a point of origination" so the treats are based on the "fundamental sources of nutrition as nature intended."
Well I can see how mother nature intended our canine ancestors to eat grain free, wheat & corn free, no sugar foods, but she also gave us tastebuds that make us seek foods we enjoy. Sorry Cloud Star, I love ya, but the Provenance brand treats are really bland. I gave samples to nearly a dozen dogs. They all enthusiastically accepted my treat offer, sometimes they carried them in their mouths for a bit. But ulitmately they ended up on the floor with one bite taken out.
Now I thought this was weird so I took a bite, just a small one. Well, they taste exactly as I imagined, like dried potato with essence of chicken. It was very dry.
Don't get me wrong, the company is great! Cloud Star makes all their products in the USA; that's a huge point from me. And they give 10% of the net profits to non-profits that help animals; 2 points! but when it comes to taste.... give us a little sizzle.
You can buy Cloud Star Provenance on their website at www.CloudStar.com a 16oz box will cost $7.95.

Pet Product review - CUZ Hard Rubber Squeeky Dog Toy
Today's post is going to be nearly a wordless Wednesday. Because quite simply, I'm going to say tha my do Champs absolute favorite toy, and the favorite toy of all of his friends is his CUZ Hard Rubber Squeeky Dog Toy. Its so cute, resesembles a ball with feet. There is a good CUZ which is just round with feet, and a Bad CUZ which has little devilish horns. Very cute. Dog's love the squeek. It is a bit insane, in fact, I do have to hide his CUZ toy every month, just to allieviate my headache caused by the squeeking.

Champ has had his CUZ toy for 5 full years and always knows where it can be found. I suggest you get one for your dog. They do come in 3 sizes for small, medium and large dogs. But the price is so right, why not buy all three in a special pack? The site: www.muttmart.com has them on sale for only 14.99.
