Pet Product Review - Smartykat: Chickadee Chirp Cat Toys

Can I just tell you today's favorite pet toy for both my cat and dog is the Smartykat: Chickadee Chirp Cat Toys.

Smartykat_cickadee_chirp_thumb

You won't believe how the hunter comes out in your pet until you see them play with this toy.  Everytime it hits the ground a realistic chirp begins.  With that your pet will soon be tossing it up into the air just to hear it chirp.  So much fun!

You can buy the Smartykat: Chickadee Chirp Cat Toys in Walmart for only $3.99.  In a day or two it probably will end up under a sofa or behind a cabinet, but the price is well worth it.

Pet Product Review - Pet Select Pee-Pee Pads 100 count

In my battle of the very best puppy training pads I bought from Walmart.com the Pet Select Pee Pee pads. They  may be my favorite training pads of all.

Why do I like them so much?  Well for one, they are a heavier weight than all the other training pads I’ve tested.  Therefore they don’t blow away if the air conditioner is on or when people and pets walk by them.  The waffle weave of the pad is significantly more absorbent than other pads I’ve tried. The plastic underside is sturdy, and never leaks.

I like how Pet Select Pee Pee pads are sent in a sturdy box for easy and tidy storage, and they are nicely folded.

My puppy Charlie by now loves all training pads and uses at least 10 to 15 pads a day.  So I appreciate that the 100 count box will last me about a week.

The one down point for me is that it is a product not made in the USA.

You can buy a 100 count box for only $29.97 at Walmart.com.

Pet Product Review - Calming Collars

I found the perfect gift for any Cat, Dog or Human... The Calming Collar.  OMG.... I LOVE IT.

Calmmedown_thumb

The manufacturers; The Mendez Group,  sent me two samples, a small and a medium.  I immediately put the medium on my cat and the small on my 10 week old puppy.  I'd say within 10 minutes, they were both asleep contently.  They did not mind the collar at all.  Of course, I thought wow! this works so well that perhaps the lavender and herbs were too powerful and possibly dangerous for a puppy.  So I contacted Deb at Mendez Group and she assured me that they were fine.  The collars have no essential oils, only a carefully blended combination of lavender and herbs. 100% all natural and the fabric is non toxic as well.

Here is what their site had to say:

The beauty of our products is not only that they work, but that they work using NATURAL methods. You just clip our collars on your pet and let the herbal blends work naturally to calm your pet. Stress relief is just minutes away for your loved one. Reduce dog anxiety and or cat stress!

Our Calming Collars (Patent Pending) are filled with a blend of natural herbs. Our blends were specifically developed to help with certain conditions, like excessive barking, hyper-activity, stress, anxiety and fear due to loud noises, storms and thunder (thunderphobia), separation anxiety and more!

Another added bonus is that it makes your house smell wonderful!  I showed it to two friends and they want one, not for their pets but to put under their pillows at night.  They are lovely.   Here is my cat Stinky wearing his:

I'd love to try the collar they have for car anxiety.  That has always been an issue with all of my dogs.

Order your Calm Me Collar for $32 directly at:  http://www.calmingcollars.com/digishop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=4  I'd recommend you buy one size larger than you think you may need.  The collars are a bit snug.  Stinky is wearing a size medium.

Pet Product Reviews - Garvin's ISP Ointment

I was sent a sample of my favorite new skin restoration and condition ointment.  Its called ISP Ointment and quite frankly, I'm recommending that you go directly to Garvin's site to get full information on the products and it's benefits www.garvinsisp.com and order some:  http://garvinsisp.com/store/index.php3

Isp_ointment_thumb

Why do I like this product?  Because I used it on myself and it worked wonders.  I burnt my index finger on the oven; not fun.  Well that same morning my sample came and I thought, well let me try it since neither of my pets have a skin condition.  In 3 days my bad burn was gone and the skin restored to normal; and I didn't even use a lot of ointment.

I contacted the company Garvins ISP if it was ok for human use and they said "yes, of course".  The Garvin's ISP Ointment contains a blend of iodine, sulfur & cocoa butter in a soothing and protective base of refined petrolatum.  It's completely non toxic and unconditionally guaranteed for all skin and nail problems.  That's right, money back if you're not happy.  It's great for Dogs, Cats, Horses, even Ferrets.  So anytime you get a dry patch or itchy irritated skin, perhaps a hot spot, go straight to your cupboard and use your Garvin's ISP ointment.

Again the link to get your 4oz jar of Garvins' ISP Ointment is:  http://garvinsisp.com/store/index.php3  Considering that a 1/2 oz tube of Neosporin is $5.  Its a bargain.  Be forewarned however, Garvins' has a distinctive smell.  I think it smells of chicken soup boullion, but the people at Garvins' tell me its the smell of all natural cocoa butter.  Don't worry, it blends into your skin with in moments.

Pet Products Review - ARM & HAMMER® Essentials™ Clumping Litter

If you read my blog you know I am super fastidious, and a maniac about keeping my house clean and free of odor.  Especially when it comes to the cat litter.  There is nothing worse than an apartment that smells of litter box.  ICK!  So I make it a duty of mine to keep on top of what's new and what works.

Well over the weekend I went to the apartment of my friend Donalee. Now Donalee has 3 big, I mean like Maine Coon Cats, big chubby ones.  Well, walking into her apartment was so pleasant.  Not a hint of cat odor.  So I asked her what she uses.  She told me that recently she switched to ARM & HAMMER® Essentials™ Clumping Litter.

Arm___hammer_essentials_cat_litter_thumb

She told me that she switched mostly because a friend of her's lost a cat to cancer.  And it made her think that maybe it was the chemicals in the fragrant litter the owner was using.  Well, when it comes to green, there is no greater green company than Arm & Hammer, I mean come on, everything is made with baking soda.  But this product is made, not only with baking soda, but super absorbent corn starch fibers.  They soak up urine and urine odor instantaneously.  Plus, because its not clay or rock, its lightweight, so you can carry those bags of old litter to the garbage can with ease.  It is litterally half the weight of othe litter brands.

And because the grains are small they are soft for the cat's footing.

It clumps so a daily, sometimes hourly scoop of the box is easy, even with three cats.  But don't flush it.  Its not a flushable litter.

I looked all over, and the best prices are online at National Pet Pharmacy both for the 7lbs and 10lbs bags.  Order here:
