Pet Product Review - JERK E. SLABS by Pup E. Luv
are you the type of dog owner that likes to show your dog "The Love" with special treats? if so, I found a great new treat that I like and my dog Charlie likes them to. They are called Jerk E. Slabs, and they're made by company called Pup E. Luv.

What I like about these treats is that they come in convenience and crum free our is or you could say slabs. so you could break off a piece of the bar to a smaller portion is possible. This is good because then you just give a small piece if you're using it for training, and you're not a cumulative all this calories typically associated with pet treats. And I especially like that the price for a 3 ounce bag of this product is only $1.49. I bought them at petsmart..

Pet Product Review - ZiwiPeak 'Daily-Dog' Cuisine Venison / Lamb
As you may know, everyday I receive a box of samples and goodies to test out for my reviews. Well would believe that the other day a box came from New Zealand? Yes! a company called ZiwiPeak is breaking into the US market. I love the ZiwiPeak philosophy and that is to make products "formulated on the same balance of meat ingredients that cats and dogs would find by hunting in the wild."
We tried the ZiwiPeak 'Daily-Dog' Cuisine Venison / Lamb. Each sample was a small pouch of about 2 oz of small jerky like meat bits. What I like is that this is a transition product should you be interested in giving your pet a raw diet. You can tell it was nothing but real meat. In fact the ingredients are:
- Venison (meat min 65%, venison organs min 19.5%)
- Venison & Fish (meat min 50%, venison organs min 19.5%, Hoki fish min 15%)
- Lamb (meat min 65%, lamb organs min 19.5%)
Now I went on the website, I read all of the material provided and all it said was to give 1 scoop per pound of pet. Well, from the samples that they sent me, yes, they look like a scoop, but it certainly was not enough to feed my 30lbs dog, or even my cat. Do you mix this product in with other dry kibble? Well, that's what I did. Everyday I mix a little bit of wet food in with my dog's dry kibble. On the days we tested this sample, I replaced the small bit of wet food with a sample pouch of ZiwiPeak Dog Cuisine. Yes, he did love it. And I feel it was a nice substitue for canned wet food.
But keep in mind, if you're using this product as a standalone product, it is very expensive. For a $2.2lbs bag the price is $27 in the local pet store near me. I did find it on sale for $22.14 at PetsWarehouse: www.pets-warehouse.com
You know it became apparent that when introducing a new product that hopes to change peoples' lifestyles and feeding patterns for their pets, your website needs to be extremely clear with the message, feeding instructions and have fool-proof navigation. I for myself would feel more comfortable giving a stronger recommendation of the product if I had more samples to accurately determine how its affected my pets, and clear answers to my questions on past recall, sourcing, feeding amounts, and best way to introduce the product into my dog's diet. Unfortunately the petstores I visited were not able to answer these questions either.

Pet Products Review - Wellness Pure Delights All-Natural Delicious Jerky Treats for Cats

So the people at Wellness were nice enough sending me a sample of Wellness Pure Delights All-Natural Delicious Jerky Treats for Cats in the beef flavor. I really liked this treat because they were fresh and moist and small squares of delicious pressed jerky. They sent me the sample because they know I have a cat named stinky. Problem is, you know how cats are, they are very finicky. I tried for over a week to get Stinky to eat the treats. But, not to worry. I knew that Stinky is not a huge fan of cat treats.
His friend Agnes however does like treats. But, Agnes is typical in that it takes her a while to warm up to a new snack too. In fact it took here 3 days. But, here mommy told me that after that third day she comes meowing for more.
I like how Wellness Pure Delights All-Natural Delicious Jerky Treats for Cats is all natural and made of highly supervised ingredients. Their jerky treats have never been affected by a recall. I found the Wellness Pure Delights All-Natural Delicious Jerky Treats for Cats at my Whole Foods grocery store. Look for them there or go to www.wellnesspetfood.com for store locations near you.

Pet Products Review - CATSWELL® HAPPY HIPS® Chicken Breast Jerky Treats for Cats

I don't know, is it just my cat, or every cat that is super finicky. I've tried just about every treat I can find for my cat to give him a reward for essentially doing nothing but causing trouble and sleeping (sounds like a bank bail out doesn't it). My latest attempt was CATSWELL® HAPPY HIPS® Chicken Breast Jerky Treats for Cats. My purchase was based on the fact that CATSWELL® HAPPY HIPS® Chicken Breast Jerky Treats for Cats contains Glucosamine & Chondroitin and claimes to help maintain healthy joints. I guess you can say its a fortified treat.
After spending $3.99 for a 2oz package of these jerky treats, once more, I had to give the treats to my dog. My cat wouldn't touch them. Now I'm not saying the treats were bad in any way, just simply, from my small test panel, the treat was a waste of money. If you are interested in buying this treat for your cat, do ask for a sample from your pet store. No sense in paying premium prices if your cat is not going to eat them.

Pet Product Review - Mellow Mut Chicken Treats for Dogs by Dogswell
This weekend at the Horse and Pet Expo in New Jersey, one of the best booths at the show was by Dogswell. Dogswell is the California based pet nutrition company with very high quality pet food products. Champ, my Sheltie companion loved this booth more than any other, because they gave out the best and most tasty samples. Champs favorites were the all natural Chicken Jerky Treats.

I really like the concept of this treat. Its an all natural, organically raised 100% chicken treat that has been fortified with chamomile and lavender. The only other ingredients are Vitamin E, a little lemon, and Linden Flower. Only natural stuff, no preservatives. The combination of chamomile and lavender create a pleasant calming affect for you pup. Its like having a cup of herbal tea before bed.
There are no hormones nor antibiotics, so you can feel good about giving your dog this healthy treat.
Knowing that my dog Champ certainly has a hard time with crowds and noise, I'm going to be stocking up on Mellow Mut chicken treats for the holidays. Hey, it can't hurt, and he does love the taste. You can purchase Dogswell Mellow Mut treats on www.dogswell.com or at your local high end pet stores. the packages come in 5oz for $9 or 19oz for $20. They are a luxury treat, but a recommended healthy luxury.
