If my breeder has a cat at the same cat show where Im competing, she and my human bench next to each other. At first she wasnt going to be at the San Diego Cat Show this year, because Sunday night she was delivering a kitten to the airport, where she was going to be hand carried to a Brazilian breeder. But then she changed her mind and decided to show the kitten before her journey this 6-month-old girl has a big career ahead of her as a show cat down there and will be part of a breeding...

I had a big weekend I competed at the San Diego Cat Show! It is a huge show and cats come from all over the country to be in it! It is one of the events of the year if youre a show kitty. My human and I are lucky it is less than a two-hour drive to get to the show hall and the hotel from where we live. The hotel was pretty nice I found out when my human was still bringing stuff in the room from the car and I decided to brush past her legs and go trotting down the hallway! That was fun until...

    Monday January 26th, 2015 at 12:10 AM

Here I am, reporting from the San Diego Cat Show! Ill tell you all about it tomorrow, but right now, Im sure you want to hear about the rest of the cats who have stories in Rescued, and the rescues they are supporting! If you recall from Fridays post, there are 12 rescues, one for each author, and each author was assigned a month to promote the book, with a third of the profits from that month going to the rescue. On Friday, you met the cats from February through July, 2015. Now here are the...

  • Sunday Catinee: Blind Cat Hiking

Sometimes you look at the term special needs, and you just want to tear away the needs part. Honey Bee is special, period. A rescue from the island of Fiji, she now lives with her family in Seattle. Although Honey Bee is blind, it does not stop her from joining her humans on hikes in nature, as this video shows. She may not see the beauty around her, but she can smell it and hear it and appreciate it just as much as a sighted creature. Watch this video and see for yourself.

    If you cant see...

  • The Caturday Report: Random Feline Miscellany

    from Sparkle the Designer Cat

    Saturday January 24th, 2015 at 12:10 AM

Some weeks I find news items that suggest a theme, and other weeks just seem random; this week is one of the latter!

So lets see what feline randomness I have for you!

From the DUH department: a new study shows that cats (like dogs and babies) judge their surroundings by the reactions of their humans. Who woulda thunk? We dont watch sports around here but those of you who tune into the Super Bowl just for the commercials will enjoy this: Friskies will feature an exclusive new episode of their...
  • About the Rescued Cats, and Their Causes, Part 1

    from Sparkle the Designer Cat

    Friday January 23rd, 2015 at 12:53 AM

If all goes according to plan, Rescued, the anthology of rescue cat stories thats coming out on my humans indie publishing imprint, FitCat, will be coming out next week. But she isnt planning a big, blowout book launch party like most publishers. She is having a year-long book launch!

Here is why: each author chose a rescue to receive a portion of the profits from the books sales, so there are 12 rescues. And each author has been assigned a month to promote the book, with a third of the...

  • My Human Answers My Questions Today

    from Sparkle the Designer Cat

    Thursday January 22nd, 2015 at 12:10 AM

In advance of Answer Your Cats Questions Day, Ive been making a list! Lets see how my human does.

    1. What did you do to Binga to make her so cranky? Are you guilty of tortie abuse or something? Since theres no such thing as a tortie Somali, I guess you havent been around them much. Um, no, she was not abused. Torties come that way, at least some of them. Especially her.

    2. How come Im the only one who competes in cat shows? I know they have Household Pet categories for non-pedigreed cats. Id...
