Last week, we talked about holiday traditions. This week, I wanted to talk about some holiday favorites of mine, and hear about yours. I also needed a good excuse to share this photo of Ruby in front of our now fully decoratedChristmas tree. Much to my surprise, neitherRuby norAllegra have shown much interestin the tree, so I got daring and hung the rest of the ornaments. So far so good!

Here are some of my holiday favorites:

Finally, a story of a cat lost at an airport had a happy ending. KiroTV reports that Wenty got out of hiscarrier last Friday night sometime between a flight from Tucson and the baggage claim area at Sea-Tac Airport in Seattle, WA. When Wentys owner went to claim her cat, she was given an empty carrier. She contacted an organization called Missing Pet Partnership, a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to reuniting lost pets with their owners. In addition to other services, they use...

Thats quite a contrast to how shelter cats will spend their holidays. For them, theyre not going to be any different from any other day spent waiting for that one human who will rescue them and give them a forever home.

Since everyone deserves a home for the holidays,Petfinder.com is launching its annual Foster A Lonely Pet For The Holidays program for the third year in a...

Its been a busy couple of days here for us, and Im a little bit exhausted. You see, Ive been taking care of Mom for the last few days, with Rubys help, of course. Im not sure whats wrong with Mom, but she hasnt been herself. She started sounding kind of funny on Sunday. Her voice just didnt sound like Mom, it was all raspy and weird. She spent the rest of the day laying around on the sofa very unlike her.

She fed us dinner, so that was a relief. But then she went right back to the sofa, and...
