Good morning Corgi Nation, and welcome to my weekly guest spot on The Daily Corgi! I am your host PaigeK.Davis, founder ofCorgiPals. As you know, every week I do a guest post to keep you up to snuff with the goings-on in the CorgiPals world. First, I'd like to introduce our newest Helping Paws client! Twinkie, the 6 year old Pembroke girl, was recently having sudden trouble breathing. After a very expensive trip to the vet, she is doing much better but still needs help paying the bill....The Daily Corgi Is On VACATION!

That's right! All the regular features (except for the trusty Tuesday updates from CorgiPals) are on vacation for the next few weeks. Expect days and days of Corgis having nothing but fun in the Summer sun, starting with today's splash-a-ROONI! I'll be around, the facebook page and e-mail will be a little less attended to than usual, but as always I'll try to get to the most urgent things first. (Keyword being try, as there's only one captain on this Good Ship Corgipawp). Happy Summer and...

Like any Corgi, Toby was the absolute light of his family's lives. Although they had him for less than three years before losing him to cancer, today would have been Toby's third birthday, and his people Johna and Peter simply can't imagine not celebrating it. Please note: today's post addresses the ongoing practice of dog auctions, which some -- but not all -- breeders participate in. Some breeders adopt out their "old" stock and some keep them. If you're looking to buy from a breeder, ask them what they do with their "retired" breeders.
