Good morning Corgi Nation, and welcome to my weekly guest spot on The Daily Corgi! I am your host PaigeK.Davis, founder ofCorgiPals. As you know, every week I do a guest post to keep you up to snuff with the goings-on in the CorgiPals world. First, I'd like to introduce our newest Helping Paws client! Twinkie, the 6 year old Pembroke girl, was recently having sudden trouble breathing. After a very expensive trip to the vet, she is doing much better but still needs help paying the bill....

Square_140_d08cc36d54389d10de64ba9a2e503d0d That's right! All the regular features (except for the trusty Tuesday updates from CorgiPals) are on vacation for the next few weeks. Expect days and days of Corgis having nothing but fun in the Summer sun, starting with today's splash-a-ROONI! I'll be around, the facebook page and e-mail will be a little less attended to than usual, but as always I'll try to get to the most urgent things first. (Keyword being try, as there's only one captain on this Good Ship Corgipawp). Happy Summer and...

Square_140_da1 Whether you're the kind of Dad who basically lets the kids walk all over him ... ... or the kind who pretends not to notice that THAT sort of nonsense is happening under YOUR roof ... ... have a wonderful Dad's Day.You've earned it! (Thanks to Jasper Islington and Dad Joe, who only lets Jasper walk all over him when the camera is out).

Square_140_toby Like any Corgi, Toby was the absolute light of his family's lives. Although they had him for less than three years before losing him to cancer, today would have been Toby's third birthday, and his people Johna and Peter simply can't imagine not celebrating it. "I wanted to finally share our struggle over the last month and take the opportunity to share Toby and his birthday with this wonderful group of people and pups" says Johna. "We're taking pupcakes to Toby's favorite place -- a doggie...

  • Cappy of California: A Traveling Corgi Home At Last!

    from The Daily Corgi

After several lonely weeks in the north Kansas shelter where he'd landed as a stray, Capone was becoming afraid and uncertain about his future. "Just when I thought there were too many hours in a day, or that my days might actually be numbered" he muses, "Jeanette from Corgi Connection of Kansas saved me and promised to find my perfect home. She's quite a gal." "I knew as soon as I got Capone he was a wonderful dog and would make someone a terrific friend" says Jeanette. "Surprisingly he...

  • Thursday Adoptables: Dusty, Savannah and Fawn of Kansas

    from The Daily Corgi

on Thursday June 13th, 2013 at 07:00 AM

Please note: today's post addresses the ongoing practice of dog auctions, which some -- but not all -- breeders participate in. Some breeders adopt out their "old" stock and some keep them. If you're looking to buy from a breeder, ask them what they do with their "retired" breeders. If they say they adopt them out, ask them for a contact; not all will give you one but it doesn't hurt to ask. If you can, visit their breeding facility (their home or another location). Follow your instinct and...
